국문 초록

문자언어를 통하여 읽기는 독자와 글이 상호작용하면서 의미를 이해하는 행위이자 언어 공동체의 주체로서 문자를 통해 의사소통하는 가장 본질적인 언어 기능이다. 외국어로서의 한국어교육에서 한국어 읽기는 한국어 학습자가 글을 읽는 행위를 통해서 다양한 지식과 정보를 받아들이고 소통하며, 개인적․사회적 의미를 구성해 나가는 과정이라 할 수 있다. 학문 목적 한국어의 바람직한 읽기 교육이 진행되기 위해서는 먼저 교수자에게는 읽기에 대한 개념과 읽기 학습의 중요성을 충분히 인식하게 하고, 학습자에게는 글을 읽는 목적과 목표에 따라 읽기에 대한 전략적인 지도 방법이 마련되어야 한다. 읽기의 전략 기반 지도(SBI: Strategies Based Instruction)는 학습자가 접하는 교재를 비롯한 모든 글을 잘 배우도록 지도해야 한다는 것이 아니라, 글을 접하는 학습자의 잠재력을 증진시키는 방향에 초점을 둔 것이다. 즉 읽기 전략 기반 지도는 글과의 상호작용 속에서 학습자가 글을 이해하는 과정의 학습 방법을 지도하는 것에 초점을 둔다. 학습자가 읽기 수업의 진행 과정에서 교수자와의 상호작용으로 유의미한 맥락 속에서 학습의 읽기 기능과 활동을 함으로 학습자에게 읽기 능력의 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있는 읽기 전략을 모색하고 연구하여 교수-학습에 적절하고, 적합한 지도 방법을 찾는 것은 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Reading is a behavior that the reader interacts with the writing through written language to understand what it means, and that is the most substantial language skill to communicate with letters in a language community. In teaching Korean as a foreign language, reading Korean can be defined as a process that the learner who learns Korean receives various knowledge and information and communicate through the behavior of reading to construct his or her own personal social meaning of it. To ensure the efficiency of reading education for KAP, in which way teachers should be helped to be fully aware of the concept of reading and the importance of learning reading should carefully be considered, and diverse strategic teaching methods that serve the purpose of reading should be mapped out for the sake of students. Reading SBI is not to teach learners to properly read every kind of writing to which they are exposed including textbooks. Instead, that primarily aims at improving their potentials. In other words, reading SBI is to teach how to understand writing through interaction with it. Learners are able to foster their own reading skills by engaging in reading activities in significant contexts and through interaction with their teacher. And it will be worth doing to find the right teaching method by exploring what kind of reading strategies can be helpful for the improvement of the reading skills of learners. This study is expected to help teachers to boost their own teaching efficiency by applying reading SBI, and to help KAP learners to grow into independent and autonomous learners by acquiring successful learning strategies about reading.
