대학 교양교육 글쓰기의 의미와 방향

국문 초록

선문대학교에서 개설되어 있는 <창의적 사고와 글쓰기> 교과목은 핵심적인 교양 필수 교과목으로서 신입생을 주된 대상으로 하고 있으며 주당 2시간 2학점으로 개설(開設)되었고 분반 정원은 대체로 30명 정도로 운영하고 있다. 교수자의 2회 이상의 개별 첨삭과 면담, 읽기, 말하기, 토론하기, 발표하기, 글쓰기 등의 다양한 학습활동을 통해서 대학과 사회에서 요구하는 의사소통 능력의 향상을 증진하고 있다. 이 교과목이 글쓰기 능력뿐만 아니라 다양한 소통능력, 다양한 읽기, 말하기, 토론하기, 발표하기 등의 학문 공동체 활동과 사회생활에서 필요로 하는 통합적 의사소통 능력의 향상을 목표로 하고 있다. 선문대학교는 최근 ACE사업 선정을 통해 학습자들에게 다양한 학습 분위기의 조성과 프로그램을 개발하여 운영하고 있다. 특히 이니티움 교양대학으로 변모는 주목할 만하다. 선문대학교 교양대학은 새로운 혁신을 보여주는 동시에 학생의 기초학습능력을 강화시키는 교육의 실행과 확대를 구체화하는 부분에 주력하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 <창의적 사고와 글쓰기> 강좌가 지닌 과목의 의미를 새롭게 점검하고 현재의 상황에 알맞은 학습목표와 방향을 설정하고자 하였다. <창의적 사고와 글쓰기> 강좌는 공정한 텍스트를 바탕으로 현 시대를 정확이 읽어내어 논리적으로 이해하고 분석할 수 있는 능력을 충분히 배양해야 한다. 여기에 대학 글쓰기에서 필요한 창의성과 글쓰기 과정을 정확히 이해하고 그러한 과정에서 발생하는 문제점을 정확히 짚어내는 동시에 해결과정을 찾아야 한다. 아울러 교수집단의 학습에 대한 지원과 열정이 수반된다면 신입생이 겪게 되는 경험과 노력은 이들에게 효과적으로 작용할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 학습자와 교수자 사이에 활발하게 학습과 관련한 의견을 교환하고 공유할 수 있는 온․오프의 프로그램을 확대할 필요가 있다. 또한 이 강좌에서 학습자들은 그간 평가자 중심으로 이루어진 수업에서 벗어나 창의적이고 효율적인 학습 분위기를 조성하는 역할을 해야 한다.

영문 초록

The course “Creative Thinking and Writing” established at Sunmoon University is its core liberal education requirement and mainly targets the freshmen. The course was established consisting of two-hour weekly sessions (2 credits) and generally the enrollment capacity of each of the divided classes is around 30 persons. It improves the students’ communication abilities required by universities and society through various learning activities - individual writing correction (2 times or more) provided by the instructor, one-on-one talk with the instructor, reading, speaking, debating, presentation, writing, etc. It aims to improve an integrated communication abilities (various communication skills, various reading, speaking, debating, presentation, etc. as well as writing skills) required by academic community activities and social life. The University was recently selected for the ACE (Advancement of College Education) project, through which it created various learning atmospheres and developed programs and is running them. Notably, the transformation into “Tium am liberal arts college” is noteworthy. Its college of liberal arts is focusing on giving shape to the implementation and expansion of education for strengthening the students’ basic learning skills as well as shows a new innovation. In this situation, it intended to check the meanings of the course again and set learning goals and a direction of learning appropriate for current circumstances. The course should help the students develop these abilities sufficiently: to understand and analyze things logically by understanding the present day correctly based on unbiased texts. In addition, during the course the students should have an accurate understanding of creativity and the writing process needed for college writing and detect accurately problems arising in such a process at the same time, and find problem solving processes. In addition, if the professor group’s support and passion for learning is added, the experiences and efforts the new students will go through can be effective for them. Besides, it is necessary to increase online and offline programs through which the learners and instructors can exchange and share their opinions on learning actively. Also, during the course the learners should play a role in creating a creative and effective learning atmosphere, breaking away from the conventional assessor-centered classes.
