국문 초록

본 연구는 비수도권에서 태어나고 성장한 사람들 중에서, 수도권으로 이동한 사람과 이동하지 않고 비수도권에 계속 거주하는 사람을 대상으로 지역별 경제적 변화, 인구이동에 따른 경제적 효과에 대해서 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과, 수도권으로 이동한 사람과 이동하지 않은 사람 간에는 소득 및 자산의 차이가 발생하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 이러한 차이는 지역별로 약간씩 다른 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로, 인구이동의 효과를 살펴본 결과, 수도권으로 이동한 사람은 이동하지 않은 사람에 비해, 소득 및 자산이 높은 것으로 나타나, 수도권으로의 인구이동은 보다 높은 소득 및 자산과 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the results of inter-regional migration to the Seoul Metropolitan Area. In this study, people who moved to the Seoul Metropolitan Area after being born and grown non-metropolitan areas were distinguished from the people who had not made a move. Here non-metropolitan area refers to the Gangwon, Honam, Chungcheong, Daegyung, Dongnam. In this study, the results of inter-regional migration were analyzed using the Korean Labor & Income Panel Study. The empirical analysis, which compared income gap between the two groups, showed that the movers whose hometown are Gangwon, Chungcheong, and Honam did not make a huge difference to income than the movers from Daegyung and Dongnam greater regions. And people who moved to the Seoul Metropolitan Area have higher assets than people who did not. The implications of this research can be summarized as follows based on the empirical findings. A variety of incentives should be provided in the non-metropolitan areas, otherwise more people are likely to move out from the areas as there exist better economic and educational benefits in the metropolitan cities.
