듣기 접근 방법과 유형에 따른 한국어 듣기 교수·학습 활동의 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국어 듣기 교육의 효과를 메타분석하여 체계적으로 살펴보는 데 있다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 듣기 교수·학습 방법을 듣기 접근 방법(상향식, 하향식)과 듣기 유형(반응형, 집중형, 선택형, 확장형)으로 재분류하고 그 효과를 숙달도 간 비교를 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 총 40편의 연구에서 55개의 효과 크기를 산출하여 메타분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어 듣기 교육의 전체 효과 크기는 중간 효과 크기를 가지는 것으로 나타났다(ES=.719). 둘째, 상향식 접근 방법보다 하향식 접근 방법이 더 큰 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다(상향식 .632, 하향식 .837). 셋째, 상향식 접근 방법은 숙달도가 낮을수록, 하향식 접근 방법은 숙달도가 높을수록 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 듣기 유형에 따른 효과 크기를 분석한 결과 집중형(.593)과 선택형(.714)은 중간 효과 크기를, 확장형은 큰 효과 크기를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 집중형은 숙달도가 낮을수록, 선택형은 숙달도가 높을수록 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aims to systematically investigate the effects of listening instruction in KFL contexts via meta-analysis. To that end, listening instruction and learning methods were sub-categorized into listening approaches (bottom-up and top-down approaches) and listening types(reactive, intensive, selective and extensive types), and the effects thereof were comparatively analyzed across proficiency levels. Specifically, 55 effect sizes were derived from a total of 40 articles for meta-analysis, which highlighted the following. First, listening instructions in KFL contexts had medium effects overall (ES=.719). Second, the top-down approach exerted greater effects than the bottom-up approach (bottom-up: .632, top-down: .837). Third, the bottom-up approach had greater effects on lower proficiency levels, whereas the top-down approach had greater effects on higher proficiency levels. Fourth, as for the effect size per listening type, the intensive(.593) and selective(.714) types had medium effects, whereas the extensive(.997) type had a large effect. Fifth, the intensive and selective types had greater effects on lower and higher proficiency levels, respectively.
