『훈민정음』 해례본 텍스트의 오류

국문 초록

간송미술관 소장 『훈민정음』 해례본은 아직까지 서지(書誌) 정보가 정확하게 통일되지 않는 문제를 비롯하여 책의 규격, 서문(序文)과 예의(例義) 2엽(葉)의 낙장(落張), 가획(加劃)과 탈획(脫劃), 구두점(句讀點)의 생략(省略) 및 오탈각(誤脫刻) 등의 특징이 알려져 있다. 상주(尙州) 잔엽본(殘葉本)의 경우는 아직까지 전체적인 내용이 공개되지 못하였지만 책의 크기와 표제를 제외한 부분에서는 간송미술관 소장본과 일치한다. 이 논문에서는 『훈민정음』 해례본의 텍스트를 정밀하게 분석하여 그 속에 나타난 오류를 제시하였다. 『훈민정음』 해례본의 텍스트가 전체의 구조 및 오해(五解)와 일례(一例)의 균형이 잡힌 기술의 방법은 매우 치밀하다는데 동의하지만 한편으로는 문맥이 애매하여 중의적인 뜻으로 와전될 우려가 있는 부분도 있으며, 대두법(擡頭法)이나 격간법(隔間法)에 의한 특성도 발견된다. 또한 유사한 환경임에도 불구하고 구두점(句讀點)이 달리 놓인 경우를 비롯하여 권점(圈點)과 글자의 오류도 발견되며, 문맥 상 대응 관계의 오류를 보이는 사례도 발견된다. 특히 제자해(制字解) 에서 본문에서는 ‘疑[ㆁ]’와 ‘喩[ㅇ]’와 같은 『홍무정운』의 자표(字標)를 사용하였으나, 결(結)에서는 ‘業[ㆁ]’과 ‘欲[ㅇ]’의 『훈민정음』 자표를 사용하는 혼란을 보이고 있으며, 이체자(異體字)의 경우 본문에는 ‘ㆁ, ㄹ, ㅿ’를 모두 설명하고 있으나 결에서는 ‘ㆁ’에 대한 설명이 누락된 오류가 나타나기도 한다. 이 외에도 해례의 본문과 결의 내용 차이에 의한 오류, 종성해(終聲解) 에서 종성자의 사용법에 대한 규정설명 내용이 용자례(用字例) 의 종성 사용법과 일치되지 않는 기술의 오류 등도 확인된다.

영문 초록

The Hunminjeongeum Haerye held by the Kansong Art Museum is known to have several issues: its bibliographical information is not uniformly accurate; different standardizations are used; the introduction and the two pages concerning correct manners and etiquette are missing; there are needless additional strokes and missing strokes; there’s an absence of punctuation marks, and other errors. While the entire text of the Sangju Janyeopbon has not yet been made public, it is the same as the text held by the Kansong Art Museum except for its size and title. This study closely analyses the Hunminjeongeum Haerye to present the errors within its text. While this study agrees that the methods used to write the text has struck a balance between the entire structure and misunderstanding and examples and is very detailed, the context is ambiguous so there are areas where ambiguous meanings are present, along with characteristics due to the type of spacing aimed at showing respect used throughout the text. Moreover, despite being within the same text, the punctuation is placed in different places; there are areas where the text is circled for emphasis and errors in the characters; along with cases where there are errors involving the contextual correlating relationship. In the Jaejahae, the main text uses the Correct Rhymes of the Hongwu Reign’s numbers on an arrow like ‘疑[ㆁ]’ and ‘喩[ㅇ]’ but in the conclusion it uses the Hunminjeongeum’s ‘業[ㆁ]’과 ‘欲[ㅇ].’ In the case of the Yicheja, the text talks about ㆁ, ㄹ, ㅿ but in the conclusion it fails to explain ㆁ. Apart from this, there are differences in the content of the main text of the Haerye and its conclusion, and the explanation about stipulations regarding the use of final consonants in the Jongseonghae do not match up with the final consonant stipulations in the Yongjarye.
