국문 초록

마르틴 루터는 우리에게 이미 종교개혁자, 교수, 신학자, 또는 작가로 알려져 있다. 그러나 그에 못지않게 중요하면서도 의미 있는 부분은 설교자로서의 루터이다. 그것은 그가 설교와 성서강의에서 강조했던 설교의 신학적 의미는 접어두고서라도, 우리에게 전해진 루터의 설교의 양과 설교자로서의 활동들을 통해서 알 수 있다. 이 글의 목적은 설교자로서의 루터와 그의 설교의 신학적, 교회사적인 의미를 새롭게 조명하기 위한 첫 단계로, 설교자 루터의 생애와 활동을 알아보고 루터의 설교들을 서론적으로 개관하는 것이다. 루터는 무엇보다도 자신을‘매일의 설교자’로 불렀다. 그는 강의를 위한 주석적인 성경 연구로부터 얻은 신학적 통찰을 바탕으로 비텐베르크 시립교회에서 복음적, 종교개혁적인 신앙과 경건을 선포했다. 바로 그 설교를 통해 16세기 종교개혁이 가능했던 것이다. 즉‘종교개혁은 설교 부흥운동이었다’는 것이다. 이런 맥락에서 앞으로 더욱 루터의 설교와 그 신학적 의미에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Martin Luther is famous as reformer, professor, theologian and author. Yet he must be regarded above all as a preacher. From the beginning of his preaching he preached almost uninterrupted until his death over thirty-three years. More than 2000 sermons are delivered to posterity. In addition to the theological importance of his sermons, Luther’s enormous number of sermons and his preaching activity show the importance of Luther as a preacher which is in his career as essential as a reformer and a professor. Nevertheless, there is no exhaustive treatise on Luther’s preaching, on Luther as a preacher and on his sermons. This thesis is intended to survey Luther’s preaching activity, to throw Luther the preacher and his sermons into relief, and so to give an impetus to study of Luther’s sermons. Luther saw himself as ‘daily preacher’. With the help of the academic Bible study for the lecture he preached the evangelical faith und piety in the parish church of Wittenberg, on special occasions in the Castle Church, in other places of his journey and in his house. For the study of Luther’s sermons and his preaching activity, one should refer to the much different postscripts, three registers of sermons, Helt’s diary of sermons, the letters and the like. It is very well known, that the reformation was mainly the preaching revival. That is, the reformation would not have occurred without the sermon. Therefore, Luther’s sermons and his theology of the preaching (the words of God) are the object of the necessary as well as useful study.
