本研究は、日本語母語話者と韓国人留学生の会話にみられる否定的評価 が、対人関係の構築によっていかに出現するかを分析․考察したものであ る。日本語母語話者2名と韓国人留学生2名の30分間の自由会話を3回にか けて実施した。その結果、日本語母語話者は初対面場面である1回目の会 話では否定的評価を行わなかった。しかし、2回目と3回目の会話では否定 的評価を行っており、調査が進むにつれ、出現頻度も増加した。韓国人留 学生は1回目の会話から多くの否定的評価を行い、2回目と3回目の会話で は、否定的評価の出現を増やしていった。否定的評価の対象における分析 では、1回目の会話では、 相手の社会文化 についての否定的評価の出現 がほとんどであった。しかし、2回目と3回目の会話では、 性格 所属 行動 能力 思考 経験 のように、多様な話題が取り上げることに合わ せて、否定的評価の対象も多様となった。両者の最も大きな相違点である 否定的評価の出現頻度の差は、初対面における場面意識の相違によるもの であった。調査の進行による否定的評価の出現頻度の増加、否定的評価の 対象の種類の多様化と対象の私的領域への移動は、両者に共通してみられ た。このように、日本語母語話者と韓国人留学生の間には 親 の関係が形 成されつつあると考えられ、対人関係が構築されていくことが、否定的評 価の出現の実態から明らかになった。

영문 초록

In this study, we analyze the emergence of negative assessments in conversations between Japanese native speakers and Korean international students in the construction of interpersonal relationship. We set up three 30-minute sessions of free conversations between two Japanese native speakers and two Korean international students. As a result, in the first session, Japanese native speakers did not present negative assessments. In the subsequent sessions, however, they started to present negative assessments, and the frequency gradually increased. By contrast, Korean international students started to present a number of negative assessments in the first session, and the frequency gradually increased in the subsequent sessions. The analysis of the objects of negative assessments reveals the following points. In the first session, most of the negative assessments concern “sociocultural aspects.” But in the second and the third sessions, where a number of topics were discussed such as “character,” “affiliation,” “behavior,” “competence,” “thought,” and “experience,” the objects of negative assessments vary accordingly. The difference in the frequency of negative assessments between Japanese native speakers and Korean international students, which form the largest difference between the two groups, is due to the difference in the types of consciousness about the stage in the initial meeting. On the other hand, there are parallelisms between the two groups in the increase of negative assessments, the diversification of the types of object of negative assessment,and the transfer of object of negative assessment to the private domain. In this way, the relation of “parent” seems to have been built between the two groups, and the emergence of negative assessments seems to indicate the construction of interpersonal relationship.
