국문 초록

이 글은 해방기 최명익 소설에 나타난 모더니즘 창작 방법론의 지속과 전환 양상에 대해 살펴보고, 이를 통해 최명익 소설에 나타난 고상한 리얼리즘과 모더니즘의 교직 양상과 소설사적 가치에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 해방기 최명익 소설에 대한 접근은 해방 이전 창작한 모더니즘 작품의 연속선 위에서 다루어져야 한다. 이를 위해 본고는 모더니즘 경향을 지속하고 새로운 리얼리즘 요소를 반영한 작품 <마천령>에 초점을 맞추었다. <마천령>은 최명익의 자전적 요소가 반영된 작품이다. 여기 에는 ‘인텔리 의식’ 때문에 비평가들에게 맹렬한 비난을 받은 최명익의 내적 고뇌가 담겨 있다. 또한 해방기 북한 정국이 제시한 ‘고상한 리얼리 즘’의 수용과도 관련 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 해방 이전 모더니즘적 경향이 강한 <비오는 길>을 준거의 틀로 삼았다. <마천령>은 <비오는 길>로 대변되는 해방 전 모더니즘 소설의 창작방식과 태도를 계승하고 지속한 성격을 가진다. 아울러 <맥령>으로 대표되는 해방 후 고상한 리얼리즘의 창작방식과 태도를 참작하고 수용한 성격 역시 가지고 있다. 이 두가지 측면이 <마천령> 속에서 어떻게 작용하고 존재하는지를 해명하였 다.

영문 초록

This paper is to search the sustenance and conversion of modernism creation method appeared in the novels of Choi Myeong Ik during the period of liberation, and thereby contemplate the features of teaching profession of noble realism and modernism appeared in his novel, and about its meanings. Approach to the novels of Choi Myeong Ik during the liberation period should be dealt with in the continuity of various modernism works created before the liberation. This paper will focus on the released by Choi Myeong Ik in North Korea after the liberation. is a novel reflecting his autobiographical ingredients. Here lies the internal agony of Choi Myeong Ik who was fiercely criticized by the critiques for his ‘intelligentsia consciousness’. Also it is related to the accommodation proposed by North Korea of ‘Noble Realism’ during the liberation period. For this, first of all I have taken as a frame of reference, which had a stronger modernistic tendency in the period before the liberation. is of characteristics to inherit and sustain the creation method and attitude of pre-liberation period modernism novels. Also it retains another characteristics of referencing and accepting the creation method and attitude of post-liberation period noble realism. I have explained how these two aspects react and exist inside the novel
