종택마을의 풍수요소를 적용한 계량적 명당연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 대구를 중심으로 근교에 현존하는 종택마을 14곳을 대상으로 풍수적요소를 적용하여, 종택마을의 입지가 명당의 요소를 갖춘 곳인지를 분석해 본 글이다. 지금의 종택마을은 약 300여 년전에 정주공간을 이룬 곳이므로, 지금의 입지공간이 풍수적 명당요소를 충족하고 있다는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 사실은 당시 유행했던 풍수사상이 입향조의 입지선정에 영향을 미친 것으로 짐작할 수 있기 때문이다. 이러한 맥락에서 종택마을 입지공간이 명당의 조건을 갖춘 곳인지를 판단하기 위해 풍수적요소를 적용하여 분석해 보았다. 첫째, 풍수지리의 형식논리를 적용하여 내룡맥의 용량과 주산의 표고, 현무봉과 종택의 표고를 적용하여 산세의 영향에 따른 종택공간이 중심룡맥을 받고 있는 곳인지를 판단하였다. 둘째, 종택을 중심으로 정주공간에 대해 현무봉에서 종택까지의 거리, 종택에서 마을까지의 세로 폭, 종택에서 수계까지의 거리, 종택에서 안산까지의 거리, 현무봉과 안산의 형태 등을 적용하여 산과 물이 조화와 균형을 이루고 있는 풍수적입지를 갖춘 곳인지를 판단하였다. 셋째, 득수와 수계, 득수형태와 수세를 분석하여 종택마을의 입지가 당시 농업경제에 있어서 중요한 식음용수를 얻기가 용이한 공간인지를 판단하였다. 넷째, 득수향과 파구향, 그리고 수류향을 분석하여 종택마을의 입지공간이 좌향론을 적용하여 풍수적지기를 오래동안 받거나 품고 있는 공간인지를 판단하였다. 그 결과 종택마을의 정주공간은 산을 의지하고 물을 가까이 얻을 수 있는 곳이며, 주변의 자연과 조화를 이루는 입지로 나타났다. 이처럼 지금의 종택마을이 오래동안 존속되어 온다는 것은, 친환경생태공간의 입지를 갖춘 곳을 의미하는 것이다. 따라서 당시 입향조의 입지선정은 풍수지리학의 형식논리로도 명당조건을 충족한 것으로 나타났으므로, 지금의 도시계획 및 개발에 있어서도 자연친화적인 입지선정을 위한 환경설계 방법론으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대해 본다.

영문 초록
