국문 초록

본고는 1923-2005년간의 서원연구상황을 종합적으로 검토했던 졸고 〈83년간 이래의 중국서원연구〉를 이어서 2006-2016년간의 서원연구발전변화를 정리하는 데에 목적이 있다. 전체적으로 보면 이 11년간의 서원연구는 뚜렷한 상승세가 나타나 있으며, 연구논문의 양이 200편, 300편, 400편의 고비를 잇따라 돌파했고, 학위논문과 연구도서의 양도 적지 않았다. 그 중 서원교육, 서원과 학술, 지역 및 개별서원, 서원제도개혁, 서원건축 등 전통적인 주제를 깊이 있게 검토하는 연구가 여전히 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 아울러 주목할 만한 새로운 연구동향도 많이 나타나 있다. 예를 들자면 이제 학계에서는 서원문헌의 정리에 대해 더욱 많은 관심을 가지게 되었고, 이에 많은 양의 원시문헌자료가 정리되고 출판되었다. 서원연구에 대한 학술사적 검토가 정례화되어 관련 연구검토가 해마다 진행되고 있다. 그리고 다양한 분야에 다양한 시각으로 서원연구영역을 개척하고 주목 받은 성과를 빈번히 나타내도록 하고 있다. 또한 당대의 서원도 대상연구범위에 진입됨에 따라 이제 서원연구는 전통적인 서원사 범주의 구속에 벗어나게 되었다. 그리고 전국범위의 서원연구조직이 성립되었고 서원연구학계의 대화와 교류를 위한 장기적·효율적인 시스템도 형성되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to summarize the change of Seowon research development during the period of 2006 - 2016 following 〈The Study of Seowon in China for 83 Years〉 that had the comprehensive review of Seowon research status during the period of 1923 - 2005. Considering its entirety, the Seowon study of 11 years displays a clearly increasing trend with the volume of research theses surpassed 200 pieces, 300 pieces, and 400 pieces consecutively and the volumes for degree theses and research publications were significant. Among them, most of the studies still had the in-depth review on traditional themes, such as, Seowon education, Seowon and scholarship, regional and individual Seowons, reform of Seowon system, Seowon architecture and so on. In addition, there are significant trend of new studies that deserve certain attention. For example, the academic circle has even greater interests in summarizing the Seowon bibliographies now, and accordingly, a significant volume of original bibliographic data has been summarized and published. The review on scholastic history on the Seowon study has been regularly implemented to have pertinent reviews for each year. And, it frequently displays the outcomes that gained spotlights by pioneering the Seowon study fields with diverse insights on diverse fields. In addition, with the present time Seowon included in the scope of the study, the study of Seowon has now broken away from the boundary of traditional Seowon education. And, a nationwide Seowon study organization has been founded and long-term and efficient system for communication and exchange of a Seowon study circle has been established.
