노래활용 영어수업모형 개발과 적용 효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 노래활용 영어수업모형을 개발하고, 개발한 모형의 효과성을 검증하는데 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 기존에 개발되어 있는 노래를 활용한 영어수업모형의 문제점을 발견하였다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 교수효율성에 근거한 지시적 교수모형에 기초하여 노래활용 영어수업모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 노래활용 영어수업모형의 효과성을 검증하기 위하여, 초등학교 3학년 2개 학급 61명을 대상으로 12주에 걸쳐 실험집단에는 연구자가 개발한 노래활용 영어수업모형을 적용하였고, 비교집단에는 일반적인 수업모형을 적용하였다. 연구자가 개발한 노래 활용 영어수업 모형의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 t검증과 공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 연구자가 개발한 노래 활용 영어수업은 일반적인 영어수업에 비하여 초등학생의 말하기능력, 듣기능력 및 학습흥미의 향상에 있어서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때, 연구자가 개발한 노래 활용 영어수업 모형의 효과성이 검증되었다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 개발한 교수효율성에 기초한 지시적 수업 모형에 따른 노래활용 영어수업모형은 교실 수업 개선 및 학생들의 말하기, 듣기 능력 향상 및 학습 흥미에 효과가 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to develop the English Instruction Model through song and to find the application effects of English Instruction Model through song on the communicative competence and learning interest of elementary school students. To achieve this purposes, researcher developed English Instruction Model through song based on Direct Instruction and examined its effects on learner\ s communicative competence and learning interest. The subject of this study were 61 students of 3rd grade students in elementary school. The subject classified into two groups. In this study, the experimental group were participated in english instruction through song and comparison group were participated english instruction through textbooks. Experimental period were 12 weeks. After the experimental treatment, learner\ s communicative competence and learning interest post-test. And the result of the post-test were analyzed by t-test, ANCOVA. The results of this study were as follows; First, communicative competence with english instruction through song was significantly higher than those learning with english instruction through textbooks. Second, learning interest with english instruction through song was significantly higher than those learning with english instruction through textbooks. Because english instruction through song create a pleasant environment and help learners to memorize basic expressions for a long time and the words of songs can be transferred as real-life expressions. Consequently, English Instruction Model through song based on Direct Instruction was effective on learner\ s communicative competence and learning interest.
