과학중점학교 운영 현황에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 현재 시행중인 과학중점학교 교육과정 운영 현황을 점검하고 개선 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 과학중점학교로 선정된 서울특별시 소재 3개 고등학교의 교장, 교사, 학생을 대상으로 심층면담과 수업관찰, 문서자료 분석 등의 방법으로 교육과정 운영 현황을 조사․분석하였다. 면담을 통한 과학중점학교 운영현황 분석 결과를 종합하면 우수 과학인재 육성 및 이공계 진학을 촉진시키며, 인문적 소양을 겸비한 창의적 이공계 미래형 인재를 육성한다는 과학중점학교 제도 도 입 본래의 목적을 충분히 달성할 가능성을 보여 주었다. 또한 수업관찰에서 나타난 과학중점학교 교육과정과 교수학습은 과학중점학교 편성운영지침에 따라 적절히 운영되고 있으며, 교사-학생, 학생 간 상호작용이 이루어지는 수업을 진행하고 있었다. 본 연구 분석 결과 도출된 개선점은 과학중점학교 자율성 확대, 교사들의 업무 부담해소, 교육과정의 심화 및 강화, 대학입학 및 대학교육과의 연계 방안 마련, 교육청 및 교육부 차원의 지원책 등이다.

영문 초록

This study is to examine the current state of the curriculum management at Science Core Schools, and to suggest the way to activate it. For these purposes, 3 high school in Seoul has been selected, and then interviews, class observations targeting the principal, the teachers, and the students were collected. Examining the curriculum of Science Core Schools focus appeared in interviews, it was found that these Science Core School policy is effective. The results of the interviews claimed the potential to nurture future outstanding students through stronger emphasis in math and science than general high schools. By means of promoting these students to field of natural sciences and engineering, providing plethora of career path experiences, and educating with professional science and math techniques, these students will be able to grow with creative mind set. The observation of the curriculum and the instructors denoted that the organization of the curriculum is run through firm management. The emphasis is played on variety of activities and there seemed to be plenty of interactions between students and instructors during class. Improvements seen in this study are as follows: Science Core Schools autonomy expansion, relieving the burden on teachers, curriculum enrichment and enhancement, establish linkages with universities, support programs, such as the Department of Education and the Ministry of dimensions.
