국문 초록

수학교육은 1957년 세계 최초로 소련에서 인공위성을 발사함으로 인하여 미국에서 수학교육의 문제를 지적하고, 올바른 수학교육을 위하여 수학교육의 현대화 운동을 1960년대부터 전 세계에 전파되면서 많은 변화가 추구되어 왔었다. 그러나, 1970년대에는 수학교육 현대화 운동의 비판과 반성으로 인하여 수학교육에 새로운 변화가 일어났었다. 그것은 수학교육 현대화 운동 반성의 대안으로 수학교육에 등장한 것이 문제해결이었다. 문제해결은 1980년대를 거치면서 수학교육에서 계속 강조되었었다. 초등학교에서 과목 명칭이 산수에서 수학으로 바뀔 만큼 문제해결은 수학교육에서 변화의 중추적인 역할을 하고 있었다. 1990년대에는 정보화와 국제화 시대로 규정지어지는 21세기를 대비하기 위하여 문제해결이 더욱 강조되면서 창의적인 수학적 사고 능력의 신장에 대한 관심이 특별히 대두되기 시작하였다. 이와 같이, 시대적인 상황의 변화에 따라 세계가 수학교육을 바라보는 관점과 방법이 변했음을 생각할 때, 앞으로도 수학교육에서 가장 중요한 변화의 중심은 시대적인 상황이라고 생각할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The external form of the 7th mathematics curriculum is a step-to-step and level-to-level curriculum. The step-to-step and level-to-level curriculum consists of a form of step-to-step curriculum, a form of intensive and supplementary curriculum, and a form of student-selection curriculum. The core of the goals of the 7th mathematics curriculum is to \ understand basic mathematical concepts, principles, rules, and the relationships among them by experiencing mathematical observations of the various phenomena in our daily lives.\ The core of the teaching and learning methods is giving students joy of finding, by using materials that is close to students\ daily lives and concrete events, by emphasizing concrete operational activities and thinking processes, and by providing opportunities to find principles and rules and to solve the problems for themselves. In particular, questions should be an open-ended type that stimulates students\ creative answers.
