역사 교과서 국정화에 관한 교육부의 보도자료와 신문 사설의 긴장관계

국문 초록

교육부는 2015년 10월부터 역사 교과서의 국정화에 관한 12편이 보도자료를 발표 하였다. 보수 언론을 대표하는 조선일보는 그 보도자료와 관련된 12편의 사설을 게재 하였으며, 진보 언론을 대표하는 한겨레신문 또한 그것과 관련하여 18편의 사설을 쏟 아내었다. 본 논문은 이들 세 진영의 문서에 대한 ‘언어 네트워크 분석’을 통해서 역 사 교과서를 둘러싸고 각 진영이 표방하는 주장의 특징을 분석하는 데에 목적을 두 고 있다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육부 보도자료는 관련된 사안을 균형있게 취급해야 한다는 원칙적인 입장을 표방하는 가운데 중립적 시각에서 역사 교과서의 편찬과 관련된 행정적인 입장을 내세우는 데에 초점을 두고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 조선일보 사설은 교육부 보도자료와 마찬가지로 다수의 중립적인 노드를 통해서 역사 교과서에 관한 객관적인 시각을 견지하는 가운데 교육부의 시각을 비판하면서도 진보 진영의 시각을 견제하는 데에 역점을 두고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 한겨레신문 사설은 진보 언론이라는 별명에 어울리게 다수의 원색적인 노드를 전면에 배치시키는 방식으로 역사 교과서에 관한 교육부의 입장을 신랄하게 비판하는 동시에 민심에 부합되는 바람직한 역사 교과서가 편찬되도록 촉구하는 데에 노력을 경주하는 것으로 확인되었다.

영문 초록

The Ministry of Education issued 12 press releases on government-designated history textbook from October 2015 to March 2017 which were mounted in the homepage of the branch. The Chosun representing conservative newspaper published 12 editorials related to the government-designated system for history textbook, and The Hankyoreh as radical newspaper published 18 editorials on the system. The purpose of this study is to analysis the nature and structure of arguments on the system through the three kind of documents which were presented from the camps. The results are as follows: Firstly , the press releases of the Ministry of Education showed us the principled position that we have to consider the questions to history textbook in all its aspect symmetrically . Because, the branch interested in managing the process of compilation of history textbook in the perspective of the public. Secondly , the Chosun issued the newspaper editorials focused on not only criticizing the executive opinions of the Ministry of Education but also checking the critical view of left wings with neutral position on history textbook. Thirdly , the Hankyoreh within its newspaper editorials claimed to stand for more radical position. That is to say , the camp urged to be compiled desirable history textbook which go on with the public criticizing the executive opinions of the Ministry of Education sharply .
