영문 초록

With the decline of not only large cities but also small & medium regional cities in last 30 years, the direction of urban planning in Korea has converted from physical centered development such as large scale new development centered, old downtown development centered, redevelopment & reconstruction, and others into economy & culture activation and community restoration centered. Accordingly, urban regeneration was introduced as a new trend. Conforming to such change, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport promoted urban regeneration project as a part of land and transport R&D project from 2007 to 2014. During urban regeneration project period, Changwon and Jeonju were chosen as test bed area from 2011 to 2014 (6th~8th year) and urban regeneration technique developed up to 5th years was applied to the site of test bed. Objective of urban regeneration test bed project was to promote urban regeneration project supported by residents and vendors through urban regeneration test bed project. Monitoring of street stroll and operating process of free market was conducted with the utilization of participant observation technique, a method of ethnographic research, in order to extract trait of each participation subject. As a result of operating free market in declining commercial district for this study, it was revealed that trait of participation subject varied accordingly with scope of participation, activation, and conflict. Business promotion strategy considering behavioral trait of participation subject shall be made with the utilization of above results when operating free market in declining commercial district and such strategy will contribute to resolving conflict and problem caused by many participation subjects.
