사이카쿠(西鶴) 우키요조시(浮世草子)에서의『다이헤이키(太平記)』수용연구

국문 초록

본고는 일본 근세의 대표적 소설장르인 우키요조시(浮世草子)에서의『다이헤이키(太平記)』 수용과전개 양상을 이하라사이카쿠(井原西鶴)의 우키요조시작품을 중심으로 살펴본 것이다. 사이카쿠는조닌(町人)과 같은 새로운 독자층의 흥미를 끌기위해 그들의 최대관심사 인‘금전’을 둘러싼 다양한 표현과 에피소드를 그의작품속에 녹여내고있다. 그 결과 사이카쿠는 조닌의경제생활을그린작품을다수남기고있으며, 나아가‘금전’에관련된 표현은사이카쿠의거의모든작품에서등장하고있다. 사이카쿠의 ‘금전’에 관련된 관심은 『다이헤이키』의 수용에도 영향을 미치게 되어, 『다이헤이키』에등장하는병법의달인구스노키마사시게(楠正成)는사이카쿠의 우키요조시에서는 ‘금전’과 관련하여 ‘부자’를 의미하는 ‘분겐(分限)’ 이라는 단어와 결합하여‘구스노키분겐(楠分限)’이라는신조어로탄생되고있다. 이는사이카쿠가오란다사이카쿠(阿蘭陀西鶴)로불리며항상새롭고기발한것을 남보다 먼저 시도하려는 작가정신이 새로운단어의 사용에 이어지고있다고 볼 수 있을 것 이다. 일본 근세는 장사법이 발달하고새로운계층으로조닌이등장했지만에도는여전히 무사들의시대였고, 무사들의최대의관심사중에하나는변함없이전쟁이었고, 전쟁에 이길수있는병법인병학(兵学)이발달해있었다. 지략가이자병법의달인으로서의구스노키마사시게의이미지는당시‘다이 헤이키요미(太平記読み)’를 통해일반민중들 사이에도 널리 전파되어 인식되어 있었다. 따라서 현실인식인 뛰어난작가였던사이카쿠는 금전과 병학이 병존하며 사람들의 관심사가 되고있다는 것 을파악하고, 재테크에 최고의 관심을 두고있는 조닌들과겐나엔부(元和偃武)의 평화의시대가 이어지며실전(実戦)에서 멀어진 무사층을 독자로상정하여, 이 두가지를 동시에 아우를 수 있는 표현으로 ‘구스노키분겐’ 이라는 신조어를 만들어 내었다고 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This article investigated the appreciation and the aspect of development of Daiheiki in Ukiyojosi which is representative genre of a novel in the premodern times of Japan mainly with Saikaku’s Ukiyojosi work. In order to attract interest of new class of readers like Chonin, Saikaku used various expressions and episodes around ‘money’ which is the matter of primary concern of them in his works. As the result, Saikaku left many works which described Chonin’s economic life, and further the expression related with ‘money’ appeared in almost all the works of Saikaku. Saikaku’s concern about ‘money’ had an influence on the appreciation of Daiheiki, so in Saikaku’s Ukiyojosi the master of military strategy Kusunoki Masashige who appears in Daiheiki was combined with the word ‘Bungen’ that means ‘the rich’ with relation to ‘money’ to be born as a new coinage ‘Kusunoki Bungen’. It can be said that Saikaku is called Oranda Saikaku and artistic spirit that was to always attempt what is new and novel before others leads to the use of new words. In the premodern times of Japan, the methods of business were developed and Chonin appeared as a new class but Edo was still the times of samurais. One of matters of primary concern of the samurais was invariably wars and military science which is the military strategy that can win wars was developed. The image of Kusunoki Masashige as a strategist and a master of military strategy was broadly propagated and known to the general public through ‘Daihei Kiyomi’ at that time. Therefore, it can be said that Saikaku who was a writer outstanding in realizing the reality knew that money and military science coexisted and were a matter of concern of people, and assumed that Chonin who were interested in investment techniques most and samurai class who were alienated from actual wars as the peaceful period of Gennaenbu continued were readers, and made a newly-coined word that is ‘Kusunoki bungen’ as an expression that can contain these two at the same time.
