국문 초록

본 연구에서는 일본중소기업의 해외시장 개척, 특히 수출과 관련한 사례 및 정부지원정책을 분석하여 한국에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 일본중소기업의 사업환경변화 및 해외진출지원정책을 분석한 결과, 점차 중소기업이 수출하기용이한 환경이 만들어지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 직접수출과 간접수출의 차이를 분석하기 위해 수출현황을 살펴본결과, 일본중소기업의 직접수출이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 특징이 나타나고 있다. 셋째, 수출을 경험한 중소기업은 다양한 경영자원분야에서 긍정적인 변화가 발생하는 것을 확인할수있었다. 주요 시사점으로는 간접수출이 가능할수 있도록 관련정책을 강화하는 한편소량의 수출도 편리하게 할 수 있도록 물류관련제도를 정비하는것 등을 들수있다. 더불어 수출을 경험한 중소기업이앞으로 해외직접 투자에 나설가능성에 대비하여 관련지원책을 선행적으로 마련하는것에 대해서도 적극적인 검토가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The present study attempts to draw implications for Korean small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by analyzing instances related to the exploration of foreign markets by Japanese SMEs, specifically in connection to exports and government-supported policies. First, the results of the analysis of the changes in the market environment for the SMEs and the current exports thereof reveal that there is a gradual formation of an environment that is conducive to export. Second, the current situation regarding the exports of the SMEs was examined to determine the differences between direct and indirect exports. The results show an incremental tendency towards direct export. Third, it is apparent that SMEs which engaged in export went on to show positive changes that mainly result in an expansion of their management resources. Major implications of the study include the need to strengthen policies concerning potential indirect export and to improve logistics related policies that facilitate exports in small quantities. In addition, a vigorous assessment of a supporting policy is required in preparation for SMEs that have exported to embark on direct foreign investments.
