군인아내의 양육 경험 이야기

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 격오지에서 거주하는 군인아내가 자녀를 양육하는 과정에서 겪는 경험과 그에 따른 어려움을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 G도에 거주하고 있는 군인아내 8명을 목적 표집하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 군인아내는 군인 직업에 대한 자부심과 경제적 안정감을 느끼나 혼자 자녀양육의 대부분을 담당하는 것에 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 둘째, 격오지는 영유아기 자녀를 양육하기에 긍정적이나 학령기 자녀를 양육하는 것에는 어려움이 있다고 하였다. 마지막으로 군인아내는 자녀양육에 대한 정보를 대부분 인터넷 등을 활용하여 혼자 해결하나 관사생활로 공동체적 생활과 사회적 지지를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 군인아내라는 특수한 상황에 처한 어머니들이 경험하는 양육의 어려움을 이해하고 이를 해결할 수 있는 방안을 모색해야 함을 결론으로 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This study is therefore to examine the experiences and challenges of a wives of soldier who are striving in the process of raising a child. The object of study are the 8 soldier’s wife who live in G province and they are interview intensively. The results of the study are the following. First, soldier’s wives feel proud of the husband’s job and economic stability, but feels the burden of raising children by themselves. Second, to raise children in remote area from city seemed to be positive but to educate them who goes to schools seemed to be difficult. Finally, soldier’s wives appear to solve educational issues about raising children by using Internet themselves and seems to experience the life of community and social support through military residence lives. Through the results of this study it is concluded that we should understand the challenges of mothers who are facing special situation like soldier’s wives and seek the solutions to answer those challenges.
