국문 초록

세계교역이 활발해지고 자본이동이 보다 자유로워지면서 환율변동 속도가 빨라지고 그 영향력 또한 증대되고 있다. 환율의 변동은 국제수지 변화를 통해 국가경제 뿐 아니라 기업의 가격전략 및 생산 활동에도 영향을 미친다. 우리나라의 철강 산업은 해외시장에서 자주 일본제품과 경쟁에 직면하기 때문에 우리나라 철강업계는 원화 뿐 아니라 엔화의 변동과 일본 철강업계의 대응전략도 수출가격 책정에 주요한 변수로 인식하고 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 한․일간 철강산업의 환율전가도를 비교하고 환율 변동에 대응하여 한․일 철강업계는 어떠한 전략을 추진하여 왔는가를 추정해 보고자 하는데 있다. 분석결과 우리나라의 환율전가도는 일본에 비해 다소 낮고 환율 상승기보다 하락기에 전가도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

As the international trade is getting vigorous and the capital movement is setting free unrestrictedly, the fluctuation of exchange rate is faster and deeper with its big impacts. The drastic movement of the exchange rate have an effects on not only the national economy but also pricing strategy and production of the enterprises. Korea’s steel companies have often competing with Japan’s in international Market. Therefore, it is necessary to research the trend of the Yen exchange rate shift and find out the responsive strategies for pricing of the Japanese firms. This paper has the objective comparing the pass－through of the exchange rate and investigating the export pricing strategies between Korea and Japan. As a result of the study, the exchange rate pass －through of the steel industry in Korea is little lower than in Japan and in its going－up periods comparing to its going－down periods as well.
