국문 초록

다른 학문 영역에서 가치 있다고 인정받았다는 이유만으로 우리가 그 가치를 수용할 필요는 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재의 미술교육은 단지 언어로 설명하거나 분석하여 이해하려는 경우가 많다. 미술적 경험에 의해 가치체험이 동반되지 않는 가치언어는 생명 없는 문구에 지나지 않는다. 가치의 판단은 그 판단을 할 만한 체험과 자격이 전제된다. 이런 전제가 충족되지 않는다면, 그야말로 공리공론에 빠지는 것이다. 그래서 미술적 경험없이 관념론적 사유에 의해서 구축된 미술교육의 학문화는 허상이고 망상이 되는 것이다. 가치의 실재성은 그것을 실현시키는 과정에서만 입증된다. 미술을 실천한다는 것은 보편적 미술개념을 예증하는 것이 아니라, 미술에 대한 새로운 관점과 개념을 창조하는 것이다. 분석적인 사고는 그 내부에 이상한 폭력성을 가진다. 이 사고는 대상이 아무리 복잡하고 생생한 것이라 할지라도 그것을 단지 대상으로 환원시켜 버린다. 대상이 가지고 있는 영혼이 파괴되는 것이다. 그래서 나는 미술에서의 분석에 반대한다.

영문 초록

There are several domains in art education, but I do not find it necessary that they all be understood rationally through analysis; they should be felt or experienced rather than comprehend. Art making must be viewed on the same ground from which they were created-their aliveness, their energy, their vulnerability-in order to appreciated. What is reflected in the forms, images, and colors is the by-product of a journey that has taken place on an inner landscape. The real artwork has been created on the canvas of the psyche. The true artistic production is the personal transformation that has taken place within the art making experience itself. Therefore, it does not need to justify by explanation, analysis, critical evaluation, and superimposed meaning, especially by trained professionals who consider art sophisticated discipline. Analysis has its own violence in it. It resolve every subject, even it is complex and vivid, into just a object. This sort of professionalism robs art of one of its most potent properties, the ability to resolve boundaries and reveal our connectedness with one another, as well as reveal the dignity of our uniqueness. Therefore, I against analysis in art education.
