한에 관한 신학적 고찰

국문 초록

‘한’(恨)에 대한 이해 없이는 아마도 한국의 전통 및 문화를 이해하기 어려울 것이다. 한이라는 개념은 비록 중국 및 일본 그리고 다른 여러 나라에서도 발견되지만, 한국에서는 다른 나라에서 사용되는 개념과는 달리 독특하게 사용되고 있다. 한에 대한 연구는 아직까지는 간헐적이었다고 할 수 있는데 그것은 한이라는 개념이 갖고 있는 의미의 다양성 때문이기도 하였다. 본 논문은 두 가지 숙제를 가지고 있다. 하나는 우리 시대의 현상이라고 할 수 있는 탈근대주의의 도전에 입각해서 한에 대한 새로운 시야를 제공하고자 하는 것이며 아울러 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 한에 대하여 신학적으로 구명하고자 함이다. 한민족이 갖고 있는 한의 독특성은 한이 부정적으로만 이해되는 것만이 아니라 긍정적으로도 이해되는 것에 있다. 본 논문은 복수를 추구하는 부정적 차원의 한이 어떻게 긍정적으로 발전해 나아가는지에 대하여, 그래서 어떻게 공격적이고 퇴영적인 한에서 우호적이고 진취적 개념의 한으로 발전하는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 그것은 곧 파스카적 종교 체험이라고 할 수 있다. 파스카 체험은 모든 한을 긍정하면서도 그 한을 극복하는 체험이다. 이 체험을 통해서 인간은 절대 타자와 만나게 된다. 절대 타자는 곧 자신의 거울이 되어 인간은 더욱 심화된 자신을 이루게 된다. 이러한 만남의 절정이 바로 예수 그리스도와의 만남이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

To understand Korean tradition and culture would not be easy, if there is no understanding on ‘Han’(恨). The concept of Han is common among three countries ie. Korea, China and Japan. But the idea of Han in Korean context is not the same as in China and Japan. In China and Japan, Han is only related more or less to revenge. Despite the uniqueness of Han in Korea, its study has been occasional because of the diverse notions of Han and the difficulty in understanding. In that matter, this thesis has two assignments. One is to give a new perspective to Han in the challenge of post-modernity which is the phenomenon of our time. The other is to research Han theologically on the base of a new perspective mentioned above. The uniqueness of Han in Korea is that it can be understood not only negatively but positively. Therefore, it is my aim to see how the negative Han can be developed to positive Han, and on what moment aggressive and retrogressive Han can transfer to convivial and progressive Han. This thesis tries to show that the transition is happened through the Paschal experience, which makes human has positive aspect on Han and inspires him to overcome it. Through this experience, human can meet the Absolute Other as a mirror reflected himself and it helps him to accomplish the more deepened self. Encountering Jesus Christ is the summit point of this meeting.
