사도행전의 선교 설교에 담긴 초대 교회 원전승과 바오로 전승

국문 초록

사도행전 연구에서 전승과 편집의 문제는 성서학자들의 오랜 관심사이다. 1950년대부터 1980년대까지 사도행전 연구는 저자의 편집 활동에 집중되었으나 최근에는 사도행전에 담긴 전승에 더 높은 관심을 보인다. 전승과 편집의 문제를 다루는 데 특별히 베드로와 바오로의 선교 설교들은 결정적 구실을 한다. 루카로 알려진 사도행전의 저자가 자신이 전수받은 초대 교회의 원(原)전승을 이 선교 설교들에 담아 후대에 전달하려 했기 때문이다. 이 원전승은 케리그마, 곧 사도들이 짧은 설교 형태로 선포한 예수님의 삶과 가르침 이외에 다른 것이 아니다. 그런데 바오로의 선교 설교의 경우, 이 케리그마와 더불어 바오로의 친저 서간과 일치하는 바오로 전승을 포함한다. 본 소고는 루카가 바오로의 편지를 알고 있었고 사도행전 집필에 그 내용을 원용했으리라 추정한다. 사도행전 집필 연대를 대략 90년경으로 볼 때, 그즈음에는 바오로 서간들이 여러 교회에서 회람되었을 것이고 루카가 바오로의 생애와 전도 여행을 다루면서 바오로의 서간들을 굳이 외면할 이유가 없기 때문이다. 바오로가 피시디아의 안티오키아 유다 회당에서 행한 선교 설교는 바오로의 다섯 선교 설교들 가운데 가장 길고 내용도 풍요롭다. 이 설교는 그 형식과 내용에서 사도행전의 전반부의 베드로 선교 설교들을 닮았으면서도 바오로 특성을 잘 드러낸다. 우리는 루카가 이 설교를 통해서 초대 교회의 원전승인 케리그마와 바오로 전승을 충실하게 보존하고 전달했다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The issue of redaction and tradition in the study of the Acts of the Apostles has been a long debated problem for biblical scholars. From 1950’s until 1980’s, the study of Acts focused on the redactional activities of the author of Acts, but in the recent years more interest has been given to the traditions contained in Acts. Peter’s and Paul’s missionary speeches, in particular, have a decisive role in dealing with the issue of redaction and tradition. For the author known as Luke attempted to transfer the proto-tradition of the Early Church, which was delivered to himself, through these speeches to the next generations. This proto-tradition is nothing but the Kerygma, that is, the life and teaching of Jesus as proclaimed by the Apostles in the form of a short speech. As for Paul’s missionary speeches, they embrace not only the Kerygma but also the Pauline tradition which coincides with the indisputable letters of Paul. This article presumes that Luke would have known Paul’s letters and used their content. Taking into account the composition date of Acts in 1990’s, Paul’s letters must have been circulated throughout many churches at this time and there is no reason for Luke to have disregarded the letters in his writing Paul’s life and missionary activities. Paul’s missionary speech in the Jewish synagogue at Pisidian Antioch is the longest and shows the richest content among his five missionary speeches. This speech in its form and content resembles to Peter’s missionary speeches in the first half of Acts, nevertheless manifests some Paulinisms. Through the analysis of this speech, we can affirm that Luke faithfully preserved and transmitted the Kerygma, that is the Proto-tradition of the Early Church, and the Pauline tradition.
