국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 여행의 실존적 진정성, 모더니티, 미적 경험의 이론적 관계성을 조사하는 데에 있다. 구체적으로는 진정성의 기원과 모더니티, 그리고 철학적 배경 이론들과 여행의 실존적 진정성과 미적 모더니티의 친연성을 살펴보고 여행의 실존적 진정성에 관한 이론적 확장과 인문학적 연구 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다. 진정성이 그 자체로서 모더니티라는 외적 규범의 강제력과 싸우면서 스스로의 참된 삶을 추구하고자 하는 저항 정신을 담지하고 있다는 면에서 역사적 모더니티의 이성 중심적 진보적 역사관에 대응하여 문학과 예술의 형식을 빌려 진정성을 형상화했던 미적 모더니티와 친연성을 갖는다고 할 수 있다. 하이데거의 불안은 비본래적 현존재가 본래적 현존재로 변양하는 과정에서 생기는 세계감이라는 면에서 일상성의 속물성에 대항하여 자신에게 존재론적 물음 던지는 진정성 추구여행자의 여행 동기와 유사한 근본기분이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 진정성은 어느 한 시대의 행동양식이나 사고방식에 대한 성찰의 결과로 명증되는 특정한 사태가 아니라 속물성과의 지속적인 인정투쟁 속에서 형성되는 것이다. 여행이라는 과정은 온 몸으로 세계와 교류하고 자연유산과 인류의 예술작품인 문화유산과 직접 접하면서 미적 경험을 하게 되는 인문 활동이다. 그러나 여행을 통한 미와 숭고 경험은 누구나 경험할 수 있는 것이 아니라 여행자가 일상성에서도 인간의 진정성 지향 태도를 방해하고 억압하는 속물 에토스에 저항하는 마음의 체제가 예비 되어 있어야 가능하다. 진정성이 어떤 특정한 사건이나 시대를 통해 명증하게 드러나는 것이 아니라 지속적인 성찰과 변증적 담론을 통해 간접적으로 인식되는 것과 마찬가지로 미와 숭고경험은 인간으로 하여금 모순과 부조리에 대한 판단력을 연마하게 하여 내면적 진실성과 도덕 감정을 고양시킨다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to illuminate the inter-relations among existential authenticity, modernity, and aesthetic experience from the perspective of human science. Specifically, the origin trend of authenticity thought, modernity and the relevant philosophical theories were illuminated and the affinity between existential authenticity and aesthetic modernity were investigated as well. Authenticity and aesthetic modernity have a close relevant in that both concepts commonly connotate a spirit of resistance to the coercion of the social norm to pursue an authentic life. The anxiety in Heidegger"s philosophy was an underlying feeling which created by the changing process from inauthentic Dasein to authentic Dasein. The feelings that created when the authenti-seeking travelers asked themselves ontological questions were very similar to that of Heidegger"s anxiety. However, authenticity was not revealed by reflecting the way of thought of a specific epoch alone because it was embedded by constantly struggling against the snobocracy of the society. The travel was a state which travelers moved form space to space to get in touch with the world and meet with various natural and cultural heritages. They automatically contacted them and went through aesthetic experiences which included both beauty and sublimity. The travelers should be equipped with authenticity orientation attitudes in order to experience both beauty and sublimity.
