국문 초록

본 연구는 도보관광지 주변 주민이 환경인식과 그에 따른 환경적 측면의 지속가능한 관광에 대한 태도를 검증하고 도보관광지와 관련된 자원봉사활동 참여가 그 인식과 태도에 나타나는 차이를 밝혀내고자 한다. 환경인식은 자연중심, 인간중심, 자원중심을 포함하고 있는 신환경 패러다임(New Environment Paradigm: NEP)의 척도와 지속가능한 관광의 태도에서 환경적 측면을 고려하여 인식과 태도의 관계를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 제주 올레길을 연구지로 선정하고 도보관광지 주변 주민 232명에서 설문조사를 통하여 자료를 구축하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, NEP의 자연, 인간중심의 환경인식은 지역의 지속가능한 관광에 대한 태도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 자원봉사활동경험의 조절효과는 자연, 인간중심의 환경인식과 태도 간에 차이를 나타냈다. 그러나 자원중심의 환경인식은 주민의 인식과 태도에 유의적이지 못하였다. 따라서 제시된 분석결과를 바탕으로 이론과 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study was to explore the relationship between residents’ environmental perception and attitude toward environmental sustainable tourism according to the experience of volunteering participation associated with walking tourism. The walking tourism as one of alternative tourism is to provide the natural beauty with physical and psychological healing not only to tourists but also residents by walking. Moreover, the environmental perception, namely New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) including natural, human and resource domination, is the concept of coexistence between natural with human such as ‘monism’. To achieve this objective, the data were collected from 232 residents near by Jeju Olle-gil in Jeju. The results revealed that residents who perceived the natural and human domination of NEP had a significant attitude toward sustainable tourism environmentally. Interestingly, the experience of volunteering participation played a important role in having the sustainable attitude toward tourism development with conservation of regional nature. This results can suggest the theoretical and practical implications for tourism development planner and operator of walking tourism destination.
