유치원 통합학급에서의 긍정적 행동지원 실행에 대한 교사의 경험과 인식

국문 초록

유아교육 환경에서의 긍정적 행동지원 실행은 문제행동이 생애 전반에서 미치는 부정적 영향을 조기에 예방하고 유아교육 및 유아특수교육의 효과를 높일 수 있다는 측면에서 중요한 과제가 되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현장교사들의 긍정적 행동지원 실행과 관련된 경험과 인식을 통해 유치원 통합학급에서의 행동지원 실행 상황과 어려움을 알아보고 긍정적 행동지원의 성공적 실행을 위한 지원 요구를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 질적연구를 실시하였다. 이를 위해 현재 유치원 통합학급에서 장애 유아를 위한 행동지원을 실시하고 있는 교사 8명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 면담을 실시하였으며 면담 결과를 연속적 비교분석법을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 (1) 문제행동의 발견, (2) 문제행동 중재를 위한 노력, (3) 긍정적 행동지원 실행의 어려움, (4) 긍정적 행동지원 실행을 위한 지원 요구의 4개 주제와 이에 따른 13개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 유치원 통합학급에서의 긍정적 행동지원 실행을 위한 지원 방안에 대해 시사하는 바를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

It is very important issue to implement positive behavior support in early childhood education setting because positive behavior support is considered as a framework consisting of effective intervention practice aimed at improving the quality of education and individual behavior of all children in a school. Futhermore, effective early intervention can prevent children from developing chronic problem patterns. Nevertheless, teachers experience various difficulties in translating positive behavior support principles to the everyday practices in their classrooms and they need appropriate supports in implementation of positive behavior support. This study was conducted to investigate the experiences and perceptions of teachers related to implementation of positive behavior supports in inclusive preschool classrooms. For this purpose, 8 teachers of inclusive preschools participated in focus group interview. Four themes and thirteen sub-themes were emerging from the qualitative analysis of interview transcripts. For major themes are the following: (1) identification of problem behavior, (2) efforts for behavior support, (3) difficulties in implementation of positive behavior support, (4) needs for implementation of positive behavior support. Based on these results of the study, the implications were discussed to develop support system for facilitating implementation of positive behavior support in inclusive preschool classroom.
