고등학교 특수학급 진로ㆍ직업교육의 실태와 과제

국문 초록

본 연구는 대구지역 고등학교 특수학급 진로ㆍ직업교육에 대한 실태와 과제를 밝히고 이를 바탕으로 하는 시사점을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이에 따라 대구지역 고등학교 특수학급 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특수교사들은 진로ㆍ직업교육을 주로 직업재활훈련과 자립생활훈련을 장애학생의 능력을 중시하여 실시하는 것으로 인식 및 실천하고 있다. 그러나 다양한 영역의 성인기 삶을 의식한 교육과 개인중심계획에 대한 의식을 고취하고 이를 실천으로 연결할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 진로ㆍ직업교육의 체계성이 부족하고 개별교사들의 진로ㆍ직업교육에 대한 이해와 역량에 따라 이루어지는 경향이 강하다. 따라서 체계적인 특수학급 교육과정 지침 마련, 교사들 간 진로ㆍ직업교육에 대한 공통 인식과 전문성 고취를 위한 노력, 일관된 과정으로서의 진로ㆍ직업교육을 위한 제도적 개선이 요구된다. 셋째, 개별화전환교육계획 작성, 진로ㆍ직업교육을 위한 평가 등의 실행도가 높게 나타났다. 그러나 다양한 구성원이 참여하는 협력적 계획과 다양한 평가 등이 보완될 필요가 있다. 넷째, 유관기관과의 연계 및 협력의 중요성과 필요성을 강하게 인식하고 있으나 현실적으로는 효율적이고 체계적인 협력에 어려움을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 특수학급 교사 개인에게 책무성을 돌릴 수 있는 사안이 아니므로 정책적ㆍ제도적 지원이 강화되어야 할 것이다. 다섯째, 본 연구를 통해 고등학교 특수학급의 진로ㆍ직업교육에 진전이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 대구지역의 특성을 반영한 결과일 수 있으며, 최근 강조되고 있는 장애학생 진로ㆍ직업교육에 대한 정책적 영향 또한 반영되었기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 이러한 변화들이 형식적인 것에 머물지 않도록 각 지역수준과 국가 수준에서의 실질적이고 체계적인 정책 추진과 관련 전문가들의 노력이 절실히 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study attempts to verify the current situation and challenges of career and vocational education in special classes in high school in Daegu and to provide implications based on the results. A survey was conducted on special class teachers in high school in Daegu. The following summarizes the survey results. First, the teachers of special class in high school in Daegu were mainly perceiving and practicing career and vocational education through an implementation of vocation rehabilitation training and life independence training that respect ability of disabled students. However, it is necessary to encourage education that considers adult life in diverse field and person-centered planning as well as to connect this plan to the practice. Second, career and vocational education lacked systems and tended to depend on the understanding and capability of individual teachers. Hence, guide for systematic special learning curriculum, common understanding about the career and vocational education among the teachers, efforts to achieve professionalism and systematic improvement for career and vocational education as a consistent procedure are required. Third, degree of practice turned out to be high in individualized transition plan and evaluation for career and vocational education. However, it will be necessary to complement cooperative planning where diverse members participate along with various evaluations. Fourth, although the teachers of special class in high school in Daegu strongly perceived the importance and necessity of cooperation and collaboration with related organizations, it turned out that they have difficulties in achieving effective and systematic collaboration in practice. As this is an issue that cannot be solved by individual special class teachers, political and institutional supports should be reinforced. Finally, this study confirmed that there was some progress in career and vocational education in special class in high school. Although this might be the results that reflect the regional characteristics in Daegu, political impacts also seems to have contributed to this phenomenon, with its increasing emphasis on the career and vocational education for disabled students. Realistic and systematic policy promotion at local and national level as well as efforts by experts in related fields are critical for these changes to be continued to bear fruit.
