국문 초록

학교평가와 학교자체평가는 각각의 고유한 특성과 장점을 내재하고 있지만, 개념적 이해 부족과 시대 적 조류에 편승한 자율화의 긍정적 의미와는 달리 실효성에 의문이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 문제인식에 기 초하여 본 연구는 현행 학교평가와 학교자체평가를 이론적 논의 과정을 통해 두 평가기제의 발전방향을 탐색하고자 한다. 구체적으로 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교평가와 학교자체평가는 학교교육의 책무성 을 제고하고 학교 개선을 유도할 수 있는 성과중심의 평가체제를 재검토해야 한다. 둘째, 두 평가기제에서 는 학교현장의 정서와 이해관련자들의 가치와 요구가 반영된 평가지표를 담아내야 한다. 셋째, 학교평가 의 보완적 기능에서 대두된 학교자체평가를 활성화하기 위해서는 정부 및 교육청차원의 지속적인 행·재 정적 지원과 자체진단에 기초한 발전적 방안 모색을 위한 맞춤형 후속 컨설팅을 강화해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

School evaluation and school-self evaluation have their unique characteristics and advantages, but there is a lack of conceptual understanding and questions have arisen on the effectiveness unlike the positive meaning of liberalization that both words imply although it tis in line with the times. Based on this problem recognition, this study goes through the theoretical discussion process of the current school evaluation and school self-evaluation to explore the developmental directions for the two evaluation mechanisms. More specifically, they can be summed up as follows: First, school evaluation and school self-evaluation should improve the accountability of school education and review the performance-centered evaluation system to induce school improvement. Second, two evaluation mechanisms should contain the evaluation indicators that reflect the emotional aspects at the school field and the values and requirements of those interested. Third, to activate the school-self evaluation that has been emerged as complementary function for school evaluation, it seems to be necessary to reinforce the customized follow-up consulting for the purpose of exploring the development plans based on the continuous administrative and financial support and self-diagnosis at the government and education office levels.
