고전설화를 활용한 한국어 읽기 교육 방안 연구

국문 초록

본 논문에서는 문학 작품 중에서 설화를 활용한 한국어의 읽기 자료 개발을 제안하였다. 한국어 읽기 자료에서 문학 작품의 활용에 대한 연구들이 진행되고 있지만 아직까지 읽기 텍스트에 문학 작품 활용이 폭 넓게 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국어 교육의 목표인 언어교육을 살펴보고, 설화를 통한 한국어 읽기 자료를 개발하는 방법을 모색하고자 한다. 그래서 실제 한국어 교육 현장에서의 학습자들의 상황에 맞는 적절한 설화 텍스트를 수업 자료로 활용한다면 학습자들에게 더 많은 흥미를 부여하고 학습 동기를 유발하게 될 것이다. 연구 방법은 한국의 『삼국유사』 소재의 설화를 읽기 텍스트로 선정하여 한국어의 읽기 수업의 이론적 배경을 수용하고 현장교육에서의 교육방법을 찾고자 한다. 수업 자료로는 삼국유사에 실린 <서동과 선화공주>를 통하여, 한국어 교육현장에서 설화를 활용한 읽기 수업의 필요성을 밝히고 다양한 방법과 절차로 읽기 이론의 수업모형을 제안하였다. 따라서 <서동과 선화공주> 설화의 읽기 전 단계, 읽기 단계, 읽기 후 단계 등의 수업 전략을 생각해 보고 읽기 텍스트로서 한국어의 언어 습득과 문화교육, 더불어 문학의 이해까지, 학습자와 다방면의 의사소통을 가져 올 수 있는 활용 방안을 제안해 보았다.

영문 초록

This study proposed to use narratives of literary works for reading materials of Korean language. Although there have been a number of studies on use of literary works as Korean reading materials, but those on the use of literary works as reading texts has not been active yet. As the literary works imply ideas and emotion of Korean people for Korean language education, they are necessary materials for educating speaking, listening, reading and writing Korean. Of them, narratives are good reading materials which contain traditional cultural elements as a mental product of Korean people and have higher educational value for learners of Korean language. Narratives have been orally transmitted, but each of them has a complete theme and a story and contains cultural trend and social background. So it is helpful to learn background knowledge of Korean culture including words, vocabulary and idioms which show our cultural base for language education. Narratives can be provided as a literary text for learners and cultural background each of them has is appropriate for cultural education. This study used narratives from『Samgukyusa』as reading texts and developed practical education strategies accommodating the theoretical background of a Korean reading program. Specific materials and effects are presented as follows: Through describing love between the princess and a common man, two young people who threw everything away to select love were understood. In conclusion, it was discovered that Korean language education using narratives is possible and effective. That is, it is suggested that a reading program using narratives can be integrated with writing, listening and speaking programs.
