The number of Chinese learning Korean rapidly increased. Objective research data is very limited on linguistic abilities of the learner put in such double-language environment time. Limitations in data will impose difficulty on the appraisal of the subjects put in double-language environment time. Therefore, this study analyzed if there is any difference, when producing fricatives in beginners, in the length of fricative and aspirate sections by changing a neighboring vowel and the position within a word, and in the maximum frequency, minimum frequency, scope of frequency and duration time in utterance, using Part (Yang Byeong-gon, 2003). The subjects were a total of beginners (Korean language beginners) 3 to 8 months, at which period fricatives have been completely acquired. For beginners, the subjects consisted of beginners who were under frequency match in learning time. After showing the pictures of a word including the fricatives /s, s'/ in its beginning and middle position, their utterance in the sentence form of 'This is _____.' was recorded and analyzed. The results are as follows: First, as for the difference in fricatives /s, ss/ pursuant to vowel environment between the two groups, level fricative /s/ had the greatest length of friction when meeting vowel /ae/ for both those beginners. As for the length of friction of light fricative /s'/, vowel /i/ was the longest in beginners, while vowel /ae/ was the longest in the others , the same as in fricative section. Second, as for the length of friction and aspirate sections of /s, s'/ according to the position in a word, for level fricative /s/, length of friction turned out to be greater in the beginning position of a word than the middle position in beginners. For light fricative /s'/, lengths of fricative and aspirate sections were greater in the middle position of a word than beginning in beginners; fricative section was longer in the beginning position of a word but aspirate section was longer in the beginning position with no significant difference. Third, as a result of investigating the differences according to minimum frequency, maximum frequency, scope of frequency and duration time in producing fricatives /s, s'/ between the two groups, level fricatives /s, s'/ made a statistical difference in duration time, frequency and scope of frequency. Results of this research against on the fricative and aspirate sections, minimum/maximum frequency, scope of frequency and duration time could be used as a basic data in actual clinical scene when evaluating and treating Korean or migrant beginners from Korean language beginners, especially those with an environment of Sino-mother country. However, subsequent studies will be needed considering that this study failed to catch on the characteristics or changes by school grades or learning time groups because of its broad learning time spectrum and that it is hard to apply to all phonemes from a limited study in countries and phonemes.
