국문 초록

『幼孫須知』는 경술국치 후 서간도로 망명을 떠난 大訥盧相益이 망명지에서 어린 손자를 교육하기 위해 편찬한 책이다.『유손수지』는 좁은 의미에서는 대눌의 어린 손자에 대한 교육서에 국한되지만 넓은 의미에서 아동 교육서에 들어간다. 그런데『유손수지』는 어린 손자를 대상으로 한 아동 교육서임에도 불구하고 일반 아동 교육서와 내용에 있어 크게 차별되는 점이 네 가지가 있다. 첫째,『유손수지』에는 修身德目문장 71개가 실려 있는데 아동이 修身해야 할 범위를 넘어 천하를 다스리는 방도와 임금을 堯舜처럼 덕이 있는 임금으로 만들어야 한다는 내용이 포함되어 있다. 따라서『유손 수지』에는 수신 덕목으로 제시한 문장을 익힌 어린 손자가 임금을 요순으로 만들 수 있는 인재로 자라길 바라는 대눌의 마음을 담고 있다. 그러므로『유손수지』에 실린 71개 문장은 손자가 어렸을 때뿐 아니라 평생 실천해야 할 덕목을 제시한 것이라는 점이다. 그런데 임금을 요순으로 만들기 위해서는 광복이 이루어진 이후에야 가능한 일이다. 그러므로 『유손수지』에는 대눌 자신의 광복에 대한 염원까지 포함하여 편찬된 책이라는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째,『유손수지』에는 가문과 관련된 내용이 실려 있다. 이곳에 대눌은 자신의 본관인 광주 노씨의 시조로부터 31세에 이르기까지 가문과 관련된 인물들에 대해 수록해두었다. 이는 망명지에서 자랄 어린 손자가 가문에 대한 내력을 잊지 말고 가문에 대한 자부심을 갖도록 하고자 한 것이다. 셋째,『유손수지』에는 聖賢과 儒賢의 배향과 관련된 내용이 실려 있다. 이는 유교 지식인으로서의 대눌이 자신의 학문인 儒學의 근원을 후손에게 가르치고자 한 것이다. 넷째, 師門의 淵源에 대한 내용이 수록되어 있다. 대눌은 退溪 李滉으로부터 省齋許傳으로 이어진 학통을 자신이 이어받은 사실을 기록해두었다. 이는 대눌이 어린 손자에게 가문의 학통을 가르치고자 한 것이다. 둘째, 셋째, 넷째는 모두 일반 아동 교육서에서는 관찰되지 않는『유손수지』만의 특징이다. 이처럼 대눌이 유교적 가치관에 중점을 둔 수신 덕목과 가문, 학문, 학통에 대한 내용을『유손수지』에 수록하여 어린 손자를 가르치고자 한 것은 망명지에서 학교교육을 통한 신학문을 익히며 자랄 후손이었기에 이러한 것들에 대한 교육의 필요성이 고국에 있는 사람들보다 더욱 절실했기 때문이었다. 그러므로 20세기 초 망명지에서 편찬된『유손수지』에 대한 교육서로서의 위치를 정립해주어야 한다. 그리고 대눌이 어린 손자가 평생 실천해야 할 수신 덕목으로 제시한 71개 문장을 오늘날 아동들의 현실에 맞게 각색하여 재조명해주는 작업도 병행되어야 한다.

영문 초록

『Yoosonsooji』is a book wrote by Daenool Sang-Iik Noh who exiled to west-gando after Gyeongsul Gukchi [Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty of 1910] for educating his little grandson.『Yoosonsooji』can be a general textbook for children even though it was for Daenool’s grandchild too. But『Yoosonsooji』has four big differences from general textbook. First, 71 sentences included in『Yoosonsooji』tell how to manage the world and make a king benevolent like king Yo-Soon over general educating manual. This 71 sentences propose the way his grandson choose in his lifetime. Daenool wanted his grandchild to grow up as man of ability who serves king with the 71 sentences. Regarding this, Daenool put his desire to independence judging from the fact that there is no possibility to serve the king except the independence. Therefore, it gives the truth the『Yoosonsooji』has Daenool’s desire for independence too. Secondly,『Yoosonsooji』has the story of his family. It says the persons about his family Noh, Gwang-ju, from the propositus to 31st descendents. This was for his grandson growing up in the exiled place not to forget his root and to have pride for his family. Thirdly,『Yoosonsooji』has the story of saints and temples that serve them. As a Confician, Daenool thought the originality of Confucianism need to be taught to decendents. Fourthly, the history of his school is also concluded. With the pedigree, Daenool notated that he followed Saeng-Jai(省齋) Huh-Jeon(許傳) who decended Toe-Gye(退溪) Yi-Hwang(李滉) to teach his grandson the school of his family. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th points show the distinct caracters from other textbooks. Daenool focused on the Confucian value like self-discipline and the history of the family and school. Because Daenool thought his grandson who would grow up in the place where he exiled and learn new scholarship needs to learn the originality of many area more than any others in Korea. Therefore, recorrecting Fourthly, the history of his school is also concluded. With the pedigree, Daenool notated that he followed Saeng-Jai(省齋) Huh-Jeon(許傳) who decended Toe-Gye(退溪) Yi-Hwang(李滉) to teach his grandson the school of his family. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th points show the distinct caracters from other textbooks. Daenool focused on the Confucian value like self-discipline and the history of the family and school. Because Daenool thought his grandson who would grow up in the place where he exiled and learn new scholarship needs to learn the originality of many area more than any others in Korea. Therefore, recorrecting『Yoosonsooji』's value as a textbook wrote down at the beginning of the 20th century needs to be done. In addition, editing the 71 sentences adjusting the situation of nowadays needs to run parallel with illuminating them.
