국문 초록

본 연구에서는 종교노인교육이 어떤 철학적 기초하에서 노인교육의 제반 현상 및 교육행위를 다룰 수 있는가에 대하여 논의하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 그동안 종교기관에서 중요하게 대처해 온 노인교육이 가지는 교육과 학습의 당위성은 어떠한 논리에서 가능하며, 둘째, 종교기관에서의 노인교육이 과연 어떠한 방향과 목표를 지향할 때 구원이라는 종교의 궁극적 이념과 삶의 질 향상이라는 노인교육의 목표에 접근할 수 있을 것인가에 대한 실마리를 탐색하는 데 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 사회복지로서의 노인복지서비스와 성인교육으로서의 노인교육은 인간의 삶의 질을 향상시키고 개인과 사회의 행복추구를 지향한다는 점에서는 공동의 목표를 가지고 있음이 규명되었다. 노인교육-노인복지서비스-선교가 상호연계의 관점에서 그리고 인본주의적 성인평생교육이라는 철학적 바탕에서 교육인간학적 관점으로 통합시키는 것이 종교기관에서 실천하는 노인교육의 총체성과 복합성을 이해하는 준거가 되어야 함이 규명되었다. 종교기관의 노인학교는 무엇보다 사회에 있는 노인들과의 접촉점이라는 점에서 선교의 좋은 계기가 될뿐만 아니라 종교기관과 지역사회가 만나는 접촉점으로서 종교기관의 새로운 이미지를 사회에 심어줄 수 있는 기회가 된다. 따라서 종교기관에서는 선교의 목적을 비롯하여 사회봉사 기능을 결합시키는 방향으로 노인교육을 실천하는 것이 바람직하다. 더불어 사는 사회안에서 모든 세대가 서로 돕고 지탱해 줌으로써, 노인들이 가지고 있는 최대한의 가능성을 발휘할 수 있도록 도와 줄 수 있는 인본주의적 종교노인교육철학이 절실히 요구되었다.

영문 초록

In this research, I discussed a subject whether various matters and educational actions could be handled on the basis of any philosophical foundation by the education for older adults through religious organization. The purposes of this study are as follows. First, On what logic, the reason for the education and learning of the education for older adults which has been well-considered by religious organization could be explained. Second, the purpose of this research is finding what course and what aim the education for older adults in religious organization should have and finding a clue about the approach to "salvation" which is the ultimate purpose of religion and the improvement in the quality of life which is the aim of the education for older adults. In this research, the older adults welfare service as a social welfare and the education for older adults as adult education have a common objective from a point of view that they all make the quality of life better and pursue the happiness of an individual and a society. And I also found out the tact that a viewpoint of the mutual relation of the education for older adults-the older adults welfare service-propagation and philosophical viewpoint based on humanistic adult lifelong education should be united and it should be a standard for understanding the whole things and their complexity accomplished by religious organization. A school for older adults in religious organization is a meeting place of the older adults in a society. So, it becomes a good opportunity for giving new image of religious organization to a community as well as a great chance of propagation at the same time. Therefore, It is beneficial to practice the education for older adults on the way of combining public service function into a purpose of propagation. In a society living together, every generation have to help and support each other. And also, a philosophy of humanistic education for older adults by religion is severely needed to help the old to demonstrate their potentialities.
