국문 초록

이 논문은 고전대하소설인 <윤하정삼문취록> 여성반동인물의 행위 양상과 그 서사적 기능을 살피는 것을 목적으로 한다. 여성반동인물이 반동 행위를 하게 되는 계기는 네 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 성적 욕망, 애정에 대한 욕망, 자식에 대한 지나친 사랑, 과도한 질시가 그것이다. 이들 인물은 이러한 계기에 의해 반동행위를 하며 자신의 욕망을 충족시키려 하나 주동인물과의 대결에서 패배를 한다. 서술자는 성적 욕망을 지닌 인물이 비참한 최후를 맞게 되기까지의 과정을 그리면서 정절 이데올로기를 효과적으로 부각시키고 있다. 애정에 대한 욕망을 지닌 인물이 반동행위를 하다 끝내 가문에 편입된다는 서사 전개는 성적 욕망을 지닌 인물을 통한 방식과는 또 다른 방식으로 정절의 중요성을 강조하는 효과를 거두고 있다. 딸을 지나치게 사랑해 사위 등과 갈등을 빚는 여성을 통해 서술자는 표면적으로 牝鷄司辰의 논리를 펼쳐보이고 있다. 그러나 이면적으로는 다처체, 혹은 처첩제가 지니는 억압적 성격을 보여주고 있다. 전실소생을 까닭없이 질시하는 여성을 통해 혈연을 중시하는 전통적 관념을 드러내고 있다. 이처럼 다양한 욕망을 지닌 여성반동인물은 서사의 전개에 적지 않은 기능을 담당하고 있다. 상대를 모함하기 위해 쓴 계략이 오히려 그녀 자신의 행위에 들어맞는 경우를 볼 수 있다. 이러한 역설적 상황은 풍자 및 반전의 통쾌감을 독자에게 전달하고 있다. 또한 여러 반동인물이 결합하는 경우가 있다. 이 경우에 결합하는 인물의 수가 많으면 많을수록 소설의 전개에 미치는 파장은 커진다. 갈등이 더욱 심화되어 여성주동인물의 고난이 심각해지고, 구조가 더욱 복잡해지면서, 작품의 분량 역시 늘어난다. 서술자는 천성은 결정되어 있다는 인식을 표출하고 있다. 반동인물을 대부분 여씨 집안의 인물로 설정함으로써 그러한 면을 보여주고 있는 것이다. 그런데, 서술자는 여성반동인물을 통해 혼사문제를 집중적으로 부각시켜 놓음으로써 반동행위가 천성 때문에 이루어진 것처럼 보이게 하면서 그 이면에 그 시대의 여성이 처해 있던 질곡적 상황을 묘사하고 있다. 천성보다는 오히려 환경이 그들을 반동인물이 되게 한 요인임을 역설하고 있는 것이다. <윤하정삼문취록>은 전편인 <명주보월빙>과 비교해 보면, 종통 중심의 사고가 약화된 대신 자식에 대한 지나친 사랑이나 과도한 시기심의 문제를 강조하여 혼인을 한 여성의 현실을 더욱 집중적으로 제기하고 있다는 차이가 있다.

영문 초록

This thesis is purposed to study female antagonists of an classic saga novel, YunHaJeongSamMunChuiRok. Its main purpose is to study their behavior aspects and the descriptive functions caused by them. Female antagonists in YunHaJeongSamMunChuiRok usually show reactionary behaviors, based on four kinds of desires or greeds. They include sexual desire, desire for affection, excess love for children, and excess envy. Characters who have sexual desire think of man's body as a sexual object and seek to kill his wives to get him, but this plan fails. So they have sexual relationship with other man, and finally they attempt to kill the man they love. Their behavior was fully against the idea of faithfulness, which was forced from women at that time, so they could not help being executed at the end. Those who have desire for affection love only one man and attempt to kill the man's other wives. Their behavior, too, was considered as a reactionary one, but it was not against the faithfulness that women have to follow, so they fina1ly could be included in the family. Characters who love their children so much that they do a reactionary behavior treat their son-in-law and his wives badly because they worry that their daughter may not be loved by their husband. This effect is caused by the common knowledge that such life of a wife who is not loved by her husband is not meaningful, according to their experience. Excess envy also cause a reactionary behavior. A common thing is that they are all stepmother. It can be said that a common knowledge that a stepmother is bad is embodied. These various female antagonists function a stream of a story. Sometimes it happens that an antagonist is caught in her own trap. This irony gives readers a comic beauty, a satiric joy, and a thrill of turning over. It happens that different antagonists join together. The more the characters join together, the more its effect on a story folding. Conflicts become deeper and female protagonists suffer worse hardship. Structure become complicated and the story book become thicker. A narrator shows an awareness that nature is determined. He shows that awareness by creating most of antagonists from Yeo family. He seems to show reactionary behaviors of female antagonists come from nature by focusing on marriage matters while he describes an oppressive conditions in which female suffer at that time. He stresses that it is not nature but an environment that makes female antagonists. Compared with a former work, MyongJuBoWallBing, YunHaJeongSamMunChuiRok bring a real-life condition of women intensively by stresses the matter on excess affection to children or excess envy while weaken the-eldest-son centralism.
