국문 초록

본 연구는 노인이 참여하는 자원봉사활동의 특성으로 대면 접촉을 갖는 자원봉사와 비대면 접촉을 갖는 자원봉사가 노인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 목적에서 이루어졌다. 연구결과 자원봉사활동특성인 대면 접촉 자원봉사활동과 비대면적 접촉 자원봉사활동에 따라 노인의 삶의 만족도 점수에 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 위계적 회귀분석 결과에서는 자원봉사활동의 특성 중 대면과 비대면 봉사보다는 자원봉사에 대한 태도가 노인의 삶의 만족도를 가장 잘 설명하는 변수로 나타났다. 또한 주관적 건강상태평가, 성별, 용돈액수 등도 노인들의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변수들로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 노인을 대상으로 한 자원봉사활동 프로그램을 기획하는데 참고 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between volunteering characteristics and life satisfaction of older people. The research population for this study was the elderly people who are participated in senior welfare center of Seoul. Data was collected via interview with the elderly people. Total 231 elderly people who are participated in volunteer activities were interviewed, using life satisfaction scale. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that volunteering characteristics such as direct contact and indirect contact was not related to life satisfaction. This relationship still remain after controlling for self-rated health status, economic status, and demographic variables. The findings provide empirical support to earlier studies that attitude of volunteer activities was the strongest predictor to explain life satisfaction of older people. In addition, self-rated health status, gender, and economic status were statistically significant variables to predict a dependent variable. These findings contribute to a better understanding of developing volunteer program for the elderly.
