국문 초록

본 연구에서는 최근 사회문제로 떠오르는 조기퇴직현상을 중심으로 조기퇴직자들에 대한 가족적 지원과 대책방안에 관한 이론적 논의를 하고자 한다. 조기퇴직제도의 출현과정과 사회적 배경에 대한 현실을 진단하고, 조기퇴직이 가정생활 영역에 미치는 변화와 위기 등을 지적하고자 한다. 기업입장에서 볼 때, 조기퇴직은 개인적 사건으로 인식된다. 그러나 조기퇴직자의 대부분이 한 가정의 가장의 위치에 있다는 점을 고려해 볼 때, 결코 개인적인 문제로만 볼 수는 없다. 가장이 몸담고 있는 가족, 그리고 이와 연결되어 있는 사회적 문제 등 복합적으로 생각해 보아야 한다. 조기퇴직자들에 대한 가족적 지원과 대응방안으로는 양성적 부부관계 실현, 교육-직업-퇴직의 생활주기에 대한 새로운 인식, 그리고 퇴직이후의 여유시간에 대한 재사회화과정을 통한 가족중심적인 다원적 복지지원체계 구축 등이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems of the early retirement in a Korean society. Most of the early-retirees still play important roles as breadwinners within the family. The economic and psychological crisis for the early-retirees and their family becomes a serious social problem. Since in our society, a formal welfare system has not established well for these people, each family as a support system takes a major responsibility. Several propositions are suggested to help the early-retirees adjust to new situations and to strengthen their economical and emotional stability. For example, an increased equality and commitment between husband and wife, revised life cycle in a post-industrial society, and resocialization of the early-retirees and their family members are suggested together with the establishment of welfare system from the government. The comprehensive support system at various levels(family, community, and government) is the most desirable for the improvement of the well-being for the early-retirees and their family members.
