노인 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 인과관계 모형을 구축하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 즉 신체적 기능, 주관적 경제상태, 가족응집력의 자살생각에 대한 효과를 스트레스와 우울이 매개한다는 가정 하에 연구모형을 구축하여 검증하였다. 조사는 익산지역 60세 이상 노인 524명을 대상으로 2006년 12월 15일부터 12월 29일까지 약 15일 동안 실시되었다. 연구결과, 12개의 가설 중 9개의 가설이 지지되었다. 즉 우울수준에 신체적 기능, 가족응집력, 주관적 경제상태, 스트레스 수준이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 스트레스 수준에 는 가족응집력, 주관적 경제상태가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자살생각에 신체적 기능수준, 스트레스, 우울이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 변수들 간의 간접효과에 대하여 살펴본 결과, 우울이 신체적 기능 및 주관적 경제적 수준이 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 나타났으며, 스트레스가 주관적 경제상태가 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 우울은 스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이상의 결과에 기초하여 노인 자살생각 예방전략 모색을 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to construct a causal relation model on factors influencing elderly suicidal ideation, assuming that the feelings of physical and economical loss and the family cohesion might influence elderly suicidal ideation by mediating effects of depression and stress. The data were collected from Dec. 15. to Dec. 29. 2006. through the survey to 524 elderly persons over 60 years old who have lived in Iksan city. The followings are the results of this study. Testing the model by AMOS, 9 hypotheses were supported among 12. First, in the case of endogenous variable such as level of depression, physical function, family cohesion, perceptional economical status and levels of stress have positive and significant impact on that level. Secondly, in the case of endogenous variable such as suicidal ideation, physical function, stress and depression have positive and significant impact on suicidal ideation. Thirdly, indirect effects of depression among variables shows that physical function and perceptional economical status influence on the suicidal ideation by means of mediating factor such as depression. Fourthly, indirect effect of stress among variables shows that perceptional economical status impact on suicidal ideation by means of mediating factor such as stress. the stress influence on suicidal ideation by mediating the depression. On the basis of research results, several preventive strategies were suggested.
