국문 초록

唐代禁衛軍은 南衙와 北衙로 나누어졌다. 唐代후기, 京城의 방어는 주로 左ㆍ右神策軍과 六軍등 北衙軍이 책임졌다. 南衙軍은 세력이 비교적 약했으며 그와 관련된 자료 또한 적어서 이와 관련된 연구가 미비한 편이다. 安史의 亂이후, 南衛軍의 명칭은 매우 다양했는데 복잡한 변화를 거쳐 憲宗이후, 南衙軍의 체계는 주로 金吾衛와 威遠軍으로 구성되었다. 詔敕중에 항상 나타나는 "皇城將士"는 南衙軍계열에 속하지 않았다. 金吾衛와 威遠軍은 서로 다른 연원을 가지고 있었다. 金吾衛는 唐前期의 南衙衛兵에서 내려온 것이었지만 세력은 약하였다. 威遠軍은 唐초기에 설치된 威遠營에 英武등의 雜號禁軍을 합병시켜 만든 것이었다. 安史의 亂이후, 肅宗과 代宗은 英武軍과 같은 一群의 雜號禁軍을 증설하였다. 雜號禁軍은 어떤 한 시기에는 매우 중요한 존재였었다. 그러나 宦官집단과의 연관성이 적었기 때문에 점차 중심에서 벗어나 편벽한 威遠軍에 편입되었다. 唐代전기에 南衙衛軍은 宮城남부 및 皇城에 宿衛하였으나, 후기에는 儀仗이외에는 주로 長安의 치안과 순찰을 책임지면서 기본적으로 宮城남쪽에 대한 宿衛權을 빼앗겼다. 甘露의 變이후에는 더욱 無力해져 內廷에 관여할 수 없었다. 南衙軍의 위축은 唐중ㆍ후기 宦官집단이 오랫동안 南衙軍을 배척한 결과로서, 宦官집단이 禁衛軍의 軍權을 전반적으로 통치한 역사적 추이와 일치하였다. 宦官이 兵을 관장하는 특수한 군사적 상황 하에서 南衙軍의 실력은 점차 약화되어 北衙軍과 비길 수 없었다. 唐중ㆍ후기시기 京城의 宿衛체제는 실질적으로 神策軍左ㆍ右兩軍이 서로 견제하는 군사 형국이었다.

영문 초록

The Imperial Armies included the southern imperial armies(南衙軍) and the northern imperial armies(北門軍) in the Late Tang Dynasty. The northern imperial armies were very strong, while the southern imperial armies were very weak. Those southern imperial armies had different names, different courses, and used to being ignored for the lack of records. However, through a comprehensive investigation to the southern imperial armies, such as the Lord of Imperial Insignia(金吾衛軍), the Weiyuan army(威遠軍), the Yingwu army(英武軍), the Xuanwei army(宣威軍), we can clarify the southern imperial armies' development history in the Late Tang Dynasty. After a Long time of evolution, the southern imperial Aries were mainly composed of the Lord of the Imperial Insignia and the Weiyuan army. The Lord of Imperial Insignia inherited from the previous southern imperial armies, the Weiyuan army was composed of the imperial armies which were founded during the period of the An Lushan Rebellion(安史之亂). Due to the lack of support from the eunuch group, the southern Imperial armies were excluded. Their function was limited to patrolling and keeping the peace of the capital, lost the authority to grad around the southern imperial palace. This change was the result of the eunuchs' suppression. The southern imperial armies were no match for the northern imperial armies. The military pattern of the Capital in the Late Tang was an balance between the Left army and the Right army of ShenCe(神策軍), the main northern Imperial Armies.
