생태체계적 관점에서 본 발달장애자녀 어머니의 경험에 대한 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 발달장애자녀 어머니의 경험을 생태체계적 접근을 통해 살펴봄으로써 개인, 가족, 사회체계별로 각각 어떠한 상호작용과 경험을 하는지 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 13명의 어머니를 인터뷰하였으며 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 개인체계의 특성으로는 주양육자로서의 죄책감과 스트레스, 과다한 치료비 및 노화로 인한 경제적 부담 등이 나타났다. 가족체계의 측면에서는 비장애 자녀와 장애자녀의 양육문제, 부부갈등 문제, 다른 주변체계와의 단절 및 소외의 특성을 보였다. 마지막으로 사회체계의 측면에서는 첫째, 의료기관과 관련해서는 복잡한 발달장애 진단과 방향지시 없는 개입, 그리고 문어발식 치료의 특성을 보였다. 둘째, 교육기관과 관련해서는 차별이 적은 공간으로의 선택, 전문성이 부족한 교사, 통합 프로그램의 부족, 그리고 권리보장의 어려움 등이 나타났다. 끝으로 서비스 기관 및 시설의 측면에서는 주로 비공식적 체계를 통한 정보 획득 경향과 시설부족으로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 이를 토대로 몇 가지를 제안하면 어머니 지지프로그램, 형제 및 가족 캠프와 같은 가족대상 프로그램 마련 및 강화, 활동보조인제도의 확대, 서비스 기관의 치료비용 보조, 그리고 서비스 기관의 확충 등이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

This research was aimed at providing directions of social policy and practical implications for mothers of children with developmental disabilities. For this, 13 mothers were interviewed in-depth and the data were analysed with objective hermeneutics. The results were as follows. First, in individual system, mothers of children with developmental disabilities were experiencing physical and emotional stress, and having financial problems because of excessive therapy intervention and their senility. Second, in family system, mothers had several problems such as, raising both children with developmental disabilities and normal children, marital conflicts, and severance of relationship with other family members. Third, in social system, mothers have experienced some difficulties with clinical organizations. They had difficulties in having impairment diagnosis and therapy with complicated procedures, and they had excessive interventions for their children. Next, they had several problems in educational system. There were not enough service organizations, lack of professionals and program for their children, and students with developmental disabilities were alienated from their peer group in the classroom. Lastly, in phase of service organization and facilities, mothers were likely to obtain information through private network and having difficulties because of lack of organizations for their children.
