국문 초록

이 논문은 그동안 다루어지지 않은 굿상의 음식에 주목한 글이다. 굿상에는 여러 음식이 올라가는데 특히 조기, 명태, 숭어에 주목하여 진설 양상과 의미를 살펴보았다. 명태는 다양한 형태로 올라간다. 그리고 다양하게 조리되어 진설된다. 굿상에서는 의미가 확장되기도 하는데 신령의 의사를 표현하거나 인간에게 전달하는 도구의 역할을 하기도 한다. 조기는 형태 변화 없이 조기로만 존재하고 진설용으로만 사용된다. 확장 의미를 가지지 않는다. 숭어는 형태 변화없이 진설용으로만 사용된다. 명태와 조기는 모두 바닷물에 생활하는 어류여서 상징적 의미를 가지지 않는다. 그러나 숭어는 바닷물과 민물 모두에 생활하는 어류로 서울 진오기굿에 사용된다. 이런 경우 숭어는 이승과 저승을 연결하는 상징의미를 가진다. 이러한 전개를 통해 앞으로 굿상에 올라가는 어류의 생태적 의미, 상업 유통과의 관련성, 상징 의미까지 고찰해야 할 필요성을 제기했다.

영문 초록

This article focused on food on the table setting for gut (exorcism), which has not been deal with to date. Various types of food are placed on the table setting for gut. In particular, the article reviewed the pattern and meaning of arranging food on the table focusing on crocker, aoaska pollak, and mullet. Aoaska pollak is placed in diverse forms. Also, aoaska pollak is arranged on the table after being cooked in various forms. Its meaning can be extended on the table setting for gut. Then, it plays a role as a tool of expressing the intention of a god or of delivering the intention to humans. Croaker exists as croaker without any change in the form, and it is used only for arranging food on the table. It does not have an extended meaning. Mullet is used only for arranging food on the table without any change in the form. Aoaska pollak and croaker are fish living in the seawater; thus, they do not have a symbolic meaning. However, mullet is fish living both in the seawater and freshwater. In this case, mullet has a symbolic meaning of connecting this world and the next world. Through this development in meaning, a need to consider the ecological meaning of fishes which are placed on table setting for gut, relationship with commercial distribution, and even symbolic meanings was proposed.
