국문 초록

謙齋 鄭敾의 眞景畵는 17세기 후반 이후의 문예공간에서 문학과 소통한 흔적이다. 겸재의 진경화는 문예의 공간에서 그 확산과 추이의 양상을 확인할 수 있다. 하나는 금강산 기행과 산수유기 창작에 영향을 준 점이고. 다른 하나는 진경화의 수요 증대에 따른 비평과 감상의 변화에 기여한 점이다. 겸재의 진경화는 자국 산수의 진경을 생동하고 개성적으로 담고 있어, 타자의 감상과 비평의 기준이 아닌 주체적인 기준이 필요하였다. 이러한 비평과 감상의 기준은 자국 그림에 대한 가치를 재조명하고, 새로운 심미관과 감상ㆍ비평을 여는 데 기여하였다. 이것이 겸재의 진경화가 문예계에 남긴 미덕이자 성과이다. 겸재의 진경화는 19세기까지 그 영향력을 발휘하지만, 점차 創新의 계승자를 찾지 못한 채 매너리즘에 빠지고 만다. 요컨대 초기에 문예계에 충격을 준 생동성과 참신성을 잃어버린 것이다. 하지만 진경화는 이후에 출현하는 (풍)속화와 상호 관련의 단초를 보여주기도 한다. 따라서 진경화와 (풍)속화의 상호 관계를 계기적으로 인식하는 것도 진경화의 계승문제를 따질 때 되물어야 할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

GyemJae. Sun Jung’s real landscape paintings were the marks to communicate with literature on the literary space in the late 17 century. GyemJae’s real landscape paintings provide us to see how the real landscape paintings being spread and developed on the literary space. On the one hand, his paintings impacted on traveling ‘Kumkang mountain’ and creating travel essay and on the other hand, they contributed themselves to the change of appreciation and criticism when the real landscape paintings had been requested more and more. GyemJae’s real landscape paintings vividly and ingeniously expressed Chosun’s real landscape of mountains and rivers, and the independent and new viewpoint was necessary to appreciate and criticize his paintings rather than others’ viewpoints. This viewpoint definitely assisted people in Chosun to shed new light on the value of Chosun’s paintings and to open a new aesthetic aspect and a way of appreciate and criticism. This is the literary accomplishment and virtue that GyemJae’s real landscape paintings bequeathed to the later generations. The influence of GyemJae’s real landscape paintings continued until the 19 century. However, the spirit of his paintings was not succeeded to by any creative painter and finally, many painters fell into mannerism. Thus, they lost the vivid and fresh spirit of GyemJae’s paintings which impacted on the literary circle. However, GyemJae’s real landscape paintings severed as a momentum to develop the vulgar paintings which reflected the manners and customs of those days (the so-called “Phungsok-paintings”). In some of GyemJae’s real landscape paintings, many ordinary people and their lives were drawn. However, they are too small in the pictures and so, they are not seen well. It is important that we understand the relationship between GyemJae’s real landscape paintings and the vulgar paintings.
