영문 초록

This dissertation tries to discuss two angles with Park’s four short stories which is written by senescent Wan-Suh Park. At the frist, to consider interrelationship of cohabitant with angle of old lady and the next, examine how cohabitant influence in quality of female senior citizen. Base on the assumption what the cohabitant’s attitude, speaking and mentality decide old lady’s quality of life and reason for being, this research is analyzed from the four short novels -「dusk」, 「Winter Outing」, 「grandmother judy」, 「you know, I Know and god know, but」 From the research of the novels, physiognomy of cohabitant is exposed physiognomy of cohabitant though indifference of son, indirect title of a daughter-in-law, verbal violence of entourage, and residence of small room. In Winter Outing, The second half-year of old lady is changed from downhill to well-being life by cohabitant’s humane treatment and spirit coalition of sharing the burden. This seems physiognomy of cohabitant by spirit coalition. In addition, Grandmother Judy points out social immaturity by creating imaginative physiognomy of cohabitant as main character with senior citizen who lives alone. In other words, a critical mind of senior citizen who lives alone which is one of forms of old people’s modern life style presents social problem, we are faced. Finally, 「You know, I know and God know, but」 emphasize the necessity which is living an independent life during the old age though the young senior citizen - Sung nam The physiognomy of cohabitant from here is exposed elective. So, From the various physiognomy of cohabitant in Wan-suh Park’s novel, it is reconfirmation that growing old is not shyness and disease but social puny people. Old people’s desire that is cared from others is resonable, and also, they need physical and psychological consideration and support for receiving entourage’s respect this may be interpreted author’s sense that only changing of citizenship can be alternative of problems of the aged.
