국문 초록

구비서정시는 민중들이 삶을 살아나가는데 있어서 필요에 따라 불리는 노래이며， 이는 다시 노동， 의식， 유회 구비서정시로 구분할 수 있다. 다시말해 구비서정시의 기능을 노동의 기능과 의식의 기능， 그리고 유희의 기능으로 크게 설정해 볼 수 있다는 것이다. 본고는 구 유고슬라비아의 민족들 가운데 세르비아 민족의 구비서정시가 지니고 있는 갈래상의 전반적 특정이 무엇인가 하는 점을 살펴보는 것에 그 기본적인 목적을 두고 있다. 개별 민족들의 민속을 구성하는 하나의 요소라고 할 수 있는 구비문학 가운데에서도， 특히 구비서정시 갈래에 대한 연구는 민중들의 일상적인 삶과 정서를 노래하고 있다는 측면에서 해당 민족의 삶에 보다 본질적인 접근을 가능하게 한다. 구비서정시는 민중들이 때로는 일을 하연서， 때로는 의식을 치르면서，그리고 때로는 놀이를 하면서 부르게 되는데， 구비서정시가 가창되는 그와 같은 세 가지 환경이 민중들의 일상적이고 보편적인 삶과 직결되기 때문이다. 본고에서는 세르비아의 구비서정시를 크게 일상적인 삶을 영위하며 부르는 경우， 유희적 삶의 영위를 위해 부르는 경우， 의식적 삶을 위해 부르는 경우로 나누어 살펴보았다. 먼저 일상적인 삶의 부분에서는 세르비아 민중들이 노동을 하면서 부르는 노통요를 중심으로 고찰했는데， 구비서정시의 한 갈래인 노동요가 민중들의 노동행위를 돕는 보조물의 역할을 하며 노동의 공간을 놀이 공간으로 변화시켜줌으로써 일의 부담을 덜어주는 역할을 수행하고 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러한 측면에서 세르비 아의 노동요가 지니고 있는 기능은 단순히 노동의 보조적 역할에 머물지 않으며 유희라고 하는 또 다른 기능과 밀접히 관련되어 있다는 사실을 염두에 두어야 한다. 둘째로， 유희적인 삶과 구비서정시에 관한 부분에서는 세르비아의 민속놀이를 중심으로 고찰했는데， 유희요가 불리는 환경이 세시풍속과 관련되어 있는지 혹은 그렇지 않은지에 따라서 일상적인 성격의 구비서정시와 비교될 수 있는 가능성이 열려있다는 사실을 확인했다.

영문 초록

This paper gave careful consideration to serbian oral lyric poetry by dividing into the case for daily lifes, amusements, and ritual purposes. Oral poetry is not an odd or aberrant phenomenon in human culture ，nor a fossilized survival from the far past, destined to wither away with increasing modernization. In fact, it is of common occurrence in human society, literate as well as non-literate. It is found allover the world, past and present. General and unequivocal statements are made about the style of ‘oral poetry’. It is often suggested that oral literature, not being written, is self-evidently the possession of non-literate peoples living in isolation from the centers of urban civilization, or differentiated in some radical way from modem civilized society. The essential nature of oral lyric poetry that includes seriously confidential emotions of human being is common for all nations of the world. Oral lyric poetry, in the general sense of a relatively short non-narrative poem that is sung, is of extremely wide occurrence; it can probably be regarded as universal in human culture. Among the oral poetry, a category of oral lyric poetry has close relations with conditions of living that the masses have for a long time ago managed until the present and with aspects of living of the general public. In the oral lyric poetry many emotions are involved. For some, like the traditional folklorist and earlier anthropologist, the topic is closely connected with ‘tradition’, with nationalist movements or with the faith in progress which expresses itself in the theory of social evol ution. Many of the positions taken up implicitly link with scholarly controversies about the development of society, the nature of art and communication, or various models of human being.
