국문 초록

양차 세계대전 사이의 체코 아방가르드 시의 대표적인 시인 중의 한 사람인 비블의 초기 시는 1923년 그의 첫 시집인 『사람들에게 가는 길』의 가슴의 시, 1924년의 시집 『충실한 목소』리와 1925년의 시집 『분기점』의 프롤레타리아 시, 1925년의 시집 『바그다드의 도둑』의 포에티즘 시로 나눌 수 있다. 물론 시집 『사람들에게 가는 길』의 가슴의 시에서 초기 프롤레타리아 시의 모습을 발견할 수 있고, 시집 『분기점』에서 포에티즘 시의 예고를 찾을 수 있을 정도로 그의 초기 시는 상호연관성과 연속성이 깊다. 비블의 첫 시집 『사람들에게 가는 길』의 중심주제는 자연과 사물에 대한 공감과 사랑, 경외와 숭배이다. 그리고 그의 두 번째 시집은 자연과 사물들에 대한 헌신과 사랑을 주제로 하는 시들 외에도 핍박받고 착취당하는 노동자들에 대한 연민과 더불어 부당한 사회현실에 대한 분노와 이를 시정하기 위한 혁명에의 의지를 주제로 하는 시들도 포함한다. 물론 이 시집에는 시인의 처절한 전쟁체험에 바탕을 둔 전쟁의 테마와 사랑의 테마가 결합된 시들도 등장하는데, 이들 시들은 비블 특유의 비애, 멜랑콜리, 몽환 등을 동반한다. 그의 세 번째 시집인 『분기점』은 비블의 가장 대표적인 프롤레타리아 시로서 사회혁명과 이를 위한 투쟁이라는 주제가 군대식 행진구호, 광산과 제철소 노동자들의 그로테스크한 패러독스, 민속 군인노래 등의 형식을 빌려 표현되고 있다. 물론 이 시집의 일련의 시에서는 사물의 인격화와 의인화, 사물들이 스스로 익살을 이야기하는 서정적 익살, 단어의 의미를 둘러싼 단어놀이와 소리를 둘러싼 소리놀이 등이 도입되고 있는데, 이들의 본격적인 도입과 활용은 그의 포에티즘 시의 본격적인 시작인 네 번째 시집 『바그다드 의 도둑』에서부터 이루어진다. 그리고 포에티즘의 유희정신과 놀이정신,이국취미와 에로티시즘, 못 다한 사랑의 슬픔과 멜랑콜리, 전쟁의 원죄의식 등이 이 시집의 중심 주제를 형성한다.

영문 초록

Constantin Biebl(1898-1951)'s first collection of poetry The Way to the People (Cesta k lidem) is based on the so-called ‘poetry of heart (poezie srdce)' influenced by the poetry of French poets like Jammes, Vildrac and Duhamel and introduced into Czech poetry by Deml, Křička, Wolker, Hora, Seifert, and Biebl at the beginning of 20th century. Therefore sympathy and love, respect and reverence to the nature and things around us comprise the collection's main themes. And these themes are applied in some poetry of Biebl's second collection Faithful Voice (Věrný hlas) as well. But the main themes of many poems of the second collection are sympathy with the poor working people who have been oppressed and exploited by bourgeois class in the modern industrial age. Of course the collection includes poems with the war themes which have been originated from the poet's war experience during the First World War. In general Biebl's war poetry is accompanied with sorrow and melancholy, dream and fantasy. These characteristics of Biebl's war poetry can be found not only in the collection but also in his whole poetry. The title piece of the third collection The Braek (Zlom), Biebl's most representative proletarian poetry, has as its main themes the need of the social revolution as well as the struggle for the revolution which are expressed through the word of military command, grotesque paradox by the mine workers and steel workers, and the folk military song. In this collection there are a series of poems into which has been introduced the personification of things and anthropomorphic tendency, the lyrical pun (lyrická hříčka) talled by things like roses and may-bug, and the play with the sound and meaning of the word. However, these features with Biebl's peculiar exoticism and eroticism have been introduced to a greater extent in the poetism collection Thief of Baghdad (Zloděj z Bagdadu). In Biebl's early poetry we can find that sympathy with the nature and things moves to the sympathy with the oppressed people and exploited workers, and then it develops to the proletarian poetry emphasizing the social revolution for the new justice world as well as the revolutionary struggle. However, in his fourth collection Biebl moves to poetism poetry stressing artistic revolution rather than the ideological revolution of his former collections. And then he moves to the surrealism poetry from the poetism poetry. In this way Biebl has become one of the most representative poets of the Czech avad-garde poetry between Two World Wars.
