국문 초록

1930년대 도시소설은 루마니아와 대한민국에서 문학흐름에 주도적인 역할을 한다. 근대화 라는 국가적인 차원에서 산업화가 도시성장에 비중있는 역할을 맡고, 산업화를 통하여 사회 문화전반에 걸쳐 도시성이 확산된다. 산업화는 새롭고 좀 더 다양한 삶의 모습과 방법, 편안 함을 제고하지만, 그 반면에 물질만능주의, 1차적인 인간성 상실, 공해 등의 부작용도 내포 하고 있다. 이러한 내용들이 두 작가-카밀 페트레스쿠와 이상의 소설에 잘 표현되어 있다. 1930년대에 부쿠레쉬티와 경성은 사회 전반적인 분위기가 상반되는 상황 속에서 도시의 모 습을 갖게된다. 부쿠레쉬티는 20세기 초 국가통일에 이어 국가 전체가 근대화의 진행 속에 있으므로 당시 어느 도시와도 비교할 수 있을 정도의 발전된 수준에 있고, 경성은 일제 식 민지 하에 통제되고 억압받는 상황에 있다. 이러한 사회배경으로 작가 카밀 페트레스쿠와 이상은 도시소설이라는 공통적인 분모로 각각의 독창적인 작품을 발표한다. 카밀은 소설 전 반에 ‘도시’라는 밝고 분주한 분위기와 등장 인물들의 언행과 심리를 통하여 역동적이면서도 도시적인 작품들을 발표하고, 상은 식민지 하에 주인공의 인간관계와 심리분석을 통하여 당 시 우울하고 어두웠던 경성과 그 곳을 살아가는 자신의 역할을 감당해내지 못하는 지식인들 의 모습을 그린다. 거리상과 문화적인, 그리고 사회배경의 차이가 있지만 그것을 뛰어넘어 두 작가가 도시성을 어떻게 표현했는지는 살펴보고, 이 논문이 루마니아를 이해하고 친숙함 을 갖을 수 있는데 작은 기여를 했으면 한다.

영문 초록

Urban prose appeared relatively simultaneously in Romanian and Korean literature; therefore, a comprehensive look would be interesting so as to perceive the influences that the tendencies in universal literature had upon them, and to highlight the common aspects, but also the differences due to the distinct nature of their environments. However, due to the vastness of the material to be discussed, only two authors, representative for each literature, were selected, namely, Camil Petrescu and Yi Sang. The aim of this paper is to compare their pieces of writing with the intention to show the particular instances in which common aspects and differences may be identified. What led to selecting these particular authors was the fact that there are between them biographical, psychological and literary similarities, which obviously place them in relation. Both of them lived in the same urban environment, published at the same time, bringing a new tendency in literature and exercising a great influence over the subsequent evolution of writing in the two cultures. As a consequence of their having the same urban background, both of them turned the prose with urban features into the most important tendency of the literature in the two countries. In the 1930s, that is, the period in which the two writers were published, the general atmosphere in the two countries was different due to the historical circumstances, so that their works may also be said to have influenced two different worlds. On the one hand, Bucharest was called "Little Paris" in Eastern Europe, this name reflecting its European style and model of urbanization; on the other hand, Kyongsung, capital of the colony under Japanese military goverment, was changed with the intention of endless colonization. However, Bucharest and Kyongsung were both in the process of mordernization, even though the political and social background was so different. Nevertheless, the issues raised are similar: the intellectual's status, the problem of the consciousness, and the effect of the city on man. This paper employs a certain form of literary comparatism in its attempt to highlight the similarities between two authors who had no contact whatsoever, who lived and wrote in historically different backgrounds, but who, nonetheless, create the same type of literature.
