이청준 소설의 모더니즘적 특성과 미적 특수성

국문 초록

모더니즘 소설은 미학적 자의식과 자기 반영성, 언어의 자율성 강조, 내면세계의 탐구, 실존주의적 세계관, 형식적 측면의 강조와 같은 특질을 지니고 있다. 본고는 이러한 모더니즘 소설의 특성을 기초로 이청준 소설에서 드러나는 모더니즘 소설의 특질, 즉 실존적 자의식에 기반한 근대적 주체의 자기 정체성 찾기와 탐색의 서사, 그리고 서사 담론의 모더니즘적 특성과 중층 구조에 기반한 복합적 시선에서 나타나는 미적 특수성을 고찰하는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 이청준 소설의 서사적 주체는 자신이 처한 사회적 상황에 대해 강렬한 실존적 자의식을 지닌 인물로 등장해 관념적 사유를 작동시키는 자기성찰의 주체이다. 그 주체는 자신의 문제를 자신이 아닌 다른 사람의 상황에 투사하고, 그 상황의 의미를 탐색하는 것을 통해 우회적으로 자신의 문제를 성찰한다. 이러한 이청준 소설의 미학적 자기성찰은 중층 구조를 통해 소설 속에서 소설이 놓여 있는 조건과 그것을 향한 물음을 성찰한다. 이러한 자기성찰의 주체는 소설가를 주인공으로 내세우는 일련의 작품들 속에서 세계와 단절되지 않고, 삶과 조화를 이루는 육화된 소리를 통해 글쓰기 욕망의 새로운 방향성을 획득하고 있다. 그리고 기계적 시간 관념에서 벗어나 텍스트의 기술 행위와 해석의 행위 중 해석의 시간에 방점을 두는 이중 시간 개념의 형상화를 통해 상호 소통의 장으로 나아간다. 이청준 소설의 중심을 이루는 중층 구조는 이분법적 세계 속에서 분화된 주체와 타자가 소통의 가능성을 발견해 가는 지난한 과정을 효과적으로 구체화한다. 외부 이야기의 화자와 내부 이야기의 주체가 각각 자기 동일성에서 벗어나려는 주체와 정신분열증적 양상을 드러내는 타자로 자리하며 그가 모색하는 주체화 과정이 중층 구조 속에서 형상화되고 있다. 특히 전통적 시간관에서 벗어난 시간 인식은 형식적 중층 구조와 함께 유기적인 관계를 통해 서사 담론의 층위에서 복합적 시선을 형성하고 있다.

영문 초록

Modernism novel shows Quality as like aesthetic consciousness and self- reflection, the language of the autonomy, explores the inner world, the existential world-view, and emphasis of the formal aspects. This thesis focuses on looking for the modernism characteristic and Aesthetic peculiarity in Lee Cheong jun’s novel. In the Lee’s novel, the subject of the narrative is facing a situation of social situation, has existentiali self-consciousness. The subject reveals the aspect of subjectification that pass over the world of the dichotomy as test the mutual understanding with the observation about the other. Such character setting up makes the subject is located in the place of the other. It does locating the speaker as the other to subject of the search. The subject in text shows the supposal to bump against the situation of writing impossible repeatedly. This supposal comes into being the desire that writing-itself erupting of speaking and meanings that represents speaking to wander. A formal characteristic of a Lee Cheong Jun’s novel is the double story structure of the narration. The other was separated from a dichotomy world with the subject. The double story structure discovers the possibility of the mutual understanding and materializes efficiently. The double story structure of a formal side is forming the double story structure in the side of theme. The understand of time beyond traditional time recognition organically makes complex view in narrative through a dual structure.
