미학의 관점에서 본 (심)미적 태도

국문 초록

  이 연구의 목적은 미술교육과정의 총괄목표로 제시되어 있는 정의적인 측면의 ‘(심)미적 태도’를 미술교과교육의 토대학문의 하나인 미학의 관점에서 의미를 파악하여 교육과정의 총괄목표로서의 정합성을 알아보고자 시도하였다. 미적 태도의 개념적 기원은 18세기 영국의 새프츠베리의 ‘무관심성’으로부터 시작되었고, 독일의 칸트, 쇼펜하우어를 거쳐 20세기 미적 태도론자들에 의해 집중적으로 논의되었다. 미적 태도론은 특히 조지 디키와 같은 분석미학자들로부터 강력한 비판을 받았으나 여전히 미학적 논쟁의 중심에 있는 개념 중의 하나이다. 미적 태도와 미적 지각이 같은 것이라는 동일성 확인의 문제는 단언하기 어렵지만 미적 태도가 미적 경험을 위한 동기 중의 하나라는 측면에서는 대체로 동의하는바 교육과정의 용어로서 폐기되어야 할 개념으로 귀결되지는 않는다. 다만 교육과정의 목표와 관련해서는 미적체험이나 감상영역의 목표로 는 가치가 있으나 총괄목표로서 다른 목표들의 우선순위에 놓이는 것은 문제가 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

  This paper aims to find out the non-contradiction of aesthetic attitude to a general goals of art education by understanding emotional aspect aesthetic attitude in the perspective of aesthetics that is the basis in art subject. To find out non-contradiction of aesthetic attitude as a term of art education curriculum, three things are examined; First, the concept of disinterestedness and contemplation of Land Shaftesbury, England in 18C, Immanuel Kant, Germany in 18C and Arthur Schopenhauer, Germany in 19C. Secondly, the theory of 20C aesthetic attitude theorist, Edward Bullough, Jerome Stolnitz and Virgil Charles Aldrich. Lastly, the standpoint of analytic aestheticians, George Dickie and Noel Carroll, who are negative about aesthetic attitude and the point of Dabney Townsend and David Fener who accept it in limits. Despite art philosophers" various criticism, aesthetic attitude such as disinterestedness, contemplation and psychical distance is still one of the concept that is in the middle of aesthetic arguments. The identification of aesthetic attitude and aesthetic perception is difficult to affirm. But this doesn"t bring a conclusion that aesthetic attitude is the concept to be disused in art curriculum, since it is generally agreed that aesthetic attitude is one of the motivation for aesthetic experience. Aesthetic attitude is valuable as a goal of aesthetic experience or appreciation area in curriculum. However, to prioritize it as a superior goal can be a problem.
