영문 초록

  This paper aims to grasp on the aspects and its meaning of experiences in Hyunhaetan(i. e., the Strait between Korea and Japan) which is figured in Korean modem poetry under the rule of Japanese Imperialism.
  ⅰ) In Jung Ji-Yong"s poems, Hyunhaetan is the space that expresses the pride of oneself and one"s afformative mind on the optimistic view of the world.
  ⅱ) In Lim Wha"s poems, Hyunhaetan is figured as a space that one recognize the historical truth, and examine oneself as an intellectual and make double sure one"s efforts to recover the historical dilemma.
  ⅲ) In Kim Seuk-Song and others" poems about the wandering people, Hyunhatan is a sea route that one witness the miserable and sorrowful life of the people who is emigrating and returning home.
  ⅳ) In Kim Byung-Ho and others" poems which appeared in Japanese literary world in Japanese, Hyunhaetan is figured as the actual places which one witness the tragic affairs of Korean Diaspora living in Japan as an immigrant worker.
