  The paly in this dissertation is as a part of literary educations, it has a powerful influence, interests, and positiveness over young minds.
  Of all the plays trial plays are very dramatic. A trial makes up debates with discussing the rights and wrongs of the cases, for such reasons, trial plays give critical and analytic power to children. So, this study is aim to analyze the trial plays which are in the elementary textbooks, with the analysis of general plays. This dissertation was written on analyzing the trial plays, particularly the ground of voted “teaching materials” in a textbook.
  There is the use of mock trial plays for achievement of lesson goal in the classroom ;
  〈A Rabbit"s Trial〉 was selected for the achievement of lesson goal “Reading with Thinking about characters”. Character was showed itself with talks and actions. In mack trial plays, casts speaks their mind, that aspects of their characters are easy. Also the play has several episodes, so it serves to reach the lesson"s goal which is to grip of the characters.
  〈The Merchant of Venice〉 was selected for the development learner"s abilities which are to argue a person round. Of course, it is prerequisite for the development learner"s abilities to distinguish between facts and opinions in plays and to have a good grip of the relation. In 〈The Merchant of Venice〉 there are some devices which are for good at reaching the lesson goal. One is that men are to argue a person round with "the bond" in plays, the other is that men are going to modify their opinions in the process of trial. For such reasons as mentioned, learners can see matters in a new light.
  〈Which Christmas〉 was selected for the achievement of lesson goal “Let"s read with Thinking about characters”. In textbook and guidance, this chapter was carried for learners to know what the troubles are in plays, and how to resolve the problems. In trial plays, to begin judging is to arise problems ; and in the process of trial, problems become acute to argue a person round. This serves achivement of lesson"s goal which is to know what the troubles are. 〈Which Christmas〉 is a trial play which has been with problems between the lawyer and the prosecutor about meaning of Santa Claus. Also in the middle of trial, an announcer"s entrance on the stage is help come up to the trial objectively.
  In this study, there are three trial plays; 〈A Rabbit"s Trial〉, 〈The Merchant of Venice〉 and 〈Which Christmas〉. In this study, I explained plays"s features, and identified usefulness of trial plays in lessons. It is for the future to study how to teach about another plays.
