지역사회중심교수를 통한 일반 고등학교 장애학생과 비장애학생의 관계 변화에 대한 질적연구

국문 초록

  본 연구에서는 일반 고등학교에 재학중인 3명의 장애학생에게 같은 학교의 비장애동료학생 4명이 참여하는 지역사회중심교수를 제공하였을 때, 장애학생과 동료학생의 사회적 관계 변화를 질적연구 방법을 이용하여 알아보았다. 지역사회중심교수는 장애학생이 다니는 고등학교의 비장애학생들이 가장 많이 이용하는 지하철, 패스트후드점, 노래방 환경에서 진행되었다. 연구결과, 학생들 관계의 변화과정에서 추출된 주제는 첫째, 장애학생의 역량강화를 통한 자신감 습득; 둘째, 비장애학생의 장애학생에 대한 인식개선을 통한 자존감 향상; 셋째, 학생들 사이의 관계의 성숙의 3가지였으며, 10가지 하위주제가 추출되었다. 장애 학생과 비장애학생에게 재미있고 관심이 많은 지역사회활동을 통해서 장애학생은 역량이 강화되어 자신감이 생겼고, 비장애학생은 장애에 대한 인식이 변화됨으로써 스스로 자존감이 높아졌다. 이 변화는 학생들이 사회적 관계를 새롭게 형성하고 기존관계를 심화하는데 기초 능력과 맥락으로 작용하였다. 장애학생과 비장애학생 간 새로운 친구관계가 형성되었고 학생들의 기존 관계들은 강화 및 다양화되었다. 본 연구는 일반고등학교 통합교육에서 학생들간의 관계 형성과 학생들 사이의 관계의 성숙과정에 대한 보다 깊은 이해를 가능케 하였으며, 학생들간의 사회적 관계 형성을 위한 기본능력 육성과 맥락 조성의 중요성을 지적하였다. 통합활동을 통한 아동기 장애학생과 비장애학생의 긍정적 효과를 알아본 기존의 양적연구 집합에 본 연구는 통합활동 경험을 한 청소년기 학생들의 관계 변화를 질적연구로 살펴본 첫 번째의 연구자료를 제공하는데 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to qualitatively investigate the effects of the peer participated community-based instruction on the change of perspectives and social relationships among high school students with and without disabilities. Three high school students with mental retardation and four general education peers in an inclusive school participated in the community-based instruction of three community use skills including subway use skill, fast-food restaurant use skill, and norebang use skill. The effects of the community-based instruction were monitored by the qualitative research methods.
  The results of this study were as follows: (1)students with mental retardation acquired self-confidence through strengthening their capacities in the community use skills; (2)general education peers improved their self-esteem through positively changing their perspectives on the disabilities and their disabled peers; and (3)all students participating this study matured their perspectives and expanded and improved the scope and quality of social relationships among their peers. Some suggestions were presented for the future study.
