대학 한문교육과 교육과정의 현황과 문제점 － 전공영역을 중심으로 －

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009년부터 제도화할 것으로 예상되는 사범대학 평가인정제도입에 대비하여, 현재 10개 대학의 한문교육과 교육과정의 현황과 문제점을 전공영역인 교과교육학과 교과내용학의 내용을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 중ㆍ고등학교 한문교사를 양성하는 한문교육과의 교육과정은 교사 양성이 라는 특수 목적대학으로서의 사범대학이 지향하는 교육이념이나 교육목적과 한문전공 고유의 특성이 충실히 반영된 내용으로 편성되어야 한다. 특히 한문교육과 교육과정의 전공영역은 일반학과의 교육과정과 차별화될 수 있도록 교과교육학과 교과내용학이 서로 대립하고 보완할 수 있도록 편성해야 한다. 현재 10개 대학 한문교육과 교육과정의 전공영역으로 개설된 교과교육학 과목들은 한문교육학에 대한 학문적 여과 과정 없이 1998년도부터 2차에 걸쳐 실시된 사범대학 평가에 대비해 급조된 것이다. 최근에 출제된 임용시험 문제에서 보듯이 교과교육학는 기존의 교과와 교육이라는 이분법적 시각에서 벗어나 교과와 교육의 총체적 관점에서 이해하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 한문교육과 교육과정에서의 교과교육학 과목은 교과의 내용을 무엇으로 설정할 것인가 하는 ‘내용’의 문제와 함께 교과의 내용을 어떻게 지도할 것인가에 하는 ‘방법’의 문제가 종합적이고 과학적인 방법으로 결합되는 방식으로 개선되어야 한다. 현재 10개 대학 한문교육과에 개설된 교과내용학 과목을 내용별로 분류하면 크게 기초영역, 문학영역, 역사영역, 철학영역으로 나눌 수 있다. 교과내용학 과목에서의 가장 큰 문제는 영역간의 비중보다는 각 영역별로 개설된 과목의 내용에 있다. 교육내용학 과목 중에는 중ㆍ고등학교 한문과 교육과정의 내용과는 맞지 않거나 최근 9년간 임용시험에서 출제된 문제와는 방향이 다른 과목이 상당수 개설되어 있다. 앞으로 전공 영역인 교과내용학과목은 학생들이 교직으로 진출하기 위한 관문인 임용고사에 대비하고, 학교 교육 현장에서 요구하는 지식과 방법을 효과적으로 습득할 수 있는 과목을 중심으로 개선되어야 한다. 한문교육과의 교육과정은 예비 교사인 학생들이 근무하게 될 학교 현장을 종합적으로 이해하고 현장 개선에 필요한 지식과 방법을 효과적으로 획득할 수 있도록 계속해서 개선될 필요가 있다. 향후 사범대학 교육과정의 개정방향과 관련해 주목해야 할 것은 「교원양성체제 개편 종합방안 시안」에서의 교직 과목의 개선(안)의 내용이다. 한문교육과는 창설 30주년을 맞아 다가오는 사범대학 평가에 대비해 독립학과로서의 학문적 입지를 확고히 하면서 수준 높은 중ㆍ고등학교 한문교사를 배출할 수 있도록, 독립교과로서의 학문적 위상을 높이고 교육 현장의 요구가 반영된 미래지향적인 교육과정을 만들어야 한다.

영문 초록

Preparing introduction of the estimation and approval system for a college of education, I checked present state and controversial issues mainly with contents of the curriculum education studies and the curriculum content studies of the Sino-Korean education department curriculum in existing 10 universities. The curriculum of the Sino-Korean education department must be organized with contents faithfully reflected original characteristic of the Sino-Korean major and educational ideology and purpose which the teachers' college aimed as a special purpose college cultivating teachers for middle and high schools. Particularly the major realm of the Sino-Korean department curriculum must be organized as the way Confrontation and complement are mutually possible between the curriculum education studies and the curriculum content studies thus it can be differentiated from the curriculum of other general departments. The subjects for the curriculum education studies opened for the major realm of the present 10 universities' Sino-Korean education was constructed hurriedly without scholarly filtering process about Sino-Korean education to make provision for the estimations of the college of education which have been held over two times since 1998. As we can see on the appointment examination recently set, the curriculum education studies should be understood on a whole point of view as the curriculum with education by taking off dichotomous sight as curriculum and education. The subjects of the curriculum education on the educational procedure of the Sino-Korean education department should be reorganized by scientific and synthetic way to unite the content problem-what the contents should be and the method-how to teach. The subjects of the curriculum content studies opened at the present 10 universities can be divided widely by the contents with a fundamental realm, a literal realm, a historical realm, and a philosophical realm. The biggest problem in the curriculum education studies is rather the contents of the subjects opened for each realm than the weight of it. There are several subjects which is not suitable to middle and high schools' Sino-Korean curriculum and some of these are even different from tendency of the appointment examinations for these 9 years. In the future the subjects of the curriculum content studies should be improved to the subjects for preparation of the teacher's appointment examination and for proper acquirement of the knowledge and the method requested at the school education field. The curriculum of the Sino-Korean education department should be continually improved so that the students can acquire essential knowledges and manuals to understand and change synthetically the actual field where they will work in the future. From now observation related to the direction of the education curriculum must be devoted to the content of improvement proposal for teaching profession subjects in the comprehensive program of teacher-training system reorganization. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the foundation, the Sino-Korean education department have to raise its level as an independent department and make future-oriented educational curriculum reflected requirement of the field as well as making provision for the estimation of the teacher's college.
