국문 초록

이 연구는 예비 과학 교사들이 디지털 매체를 활용한 수업을 적용하여 수업을 운영하는 교수자로 역할도 해보고, 학습자로서의 역할도 해보면서 디지털 매체 활용 수업을 했을 때의 어려움 등을 파악해 보는 것이 목적이다. 이 연구에는 중부권 사범대학 과학교육과 3학년 18명이 참여했다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다; 첫째, 예비 과학 교사들은 과학 탐구 활동을 진행하는 데 있어 디지털 매체를 선택한 이유에 대해 디지털 매체의 속성상 학생들의 흥미와 호기심을 불러 일으킬 수 있다는 생각에서 출발하였다, 또한, 2022개정교육과정의 성취기준 및 해설에서는 디지털 소양을 강조하고 있기 때문에 이를 근거로 디지털 매체를 선정하였다. 둘째, 디지털 매체 활용 수업을 준비할 때의 어려움은 교육과정 성취기준에 적합하고 활용 가능한 프로그램이 많지 않다는 것이다, 또한, 유용한 디지털 매체의 유료 운영이 문제로 제시되었다. 이러한 것은 일선 현장에서의 수업이 진행될 때 디지털 매체 활용 교육을 할 때 교육비용에 대한 이슈가 제기될 수 있는 것으로 생각된다. 다음으로 디지털 매체에 대한 낮은 숙련도도 수업을 준비하는 데 어려움으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수업을 진행할 때의 어려움은 학생들이 수업과 무관한 무분별한 디지털 매체 사용과 학생들의 행동 통제, 제한된 시간 내에 수업 목표 달성의 어려움, 디지털 매체를 사용하는 과정 중에 나타나는 돌발상황에 대한 대처 등이 제시되었다. 넷째, 예비 과학 교사들의 전통적인 수업과 디지털 매체 활용 수업에 대한 생각을 보면 전통적인 아날로그 방식의 수업은 내용 전달의 측면에 장점이 있고 디지털 매체 활용 수업은 흥미유발을 할 수 있는 요소를 많이 갖추고 있다고 생각하고 있다. 따라서 이들 중 하나를 선택해야하는 상황보다는 둘의 장점을 모두 살릴 수 있는 혹은 선택적으로 수업 방식을 선택하여 사용하는 것이 필요하다는 입장을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the difficulties experienced by pre-science teachers when conducting classes using digital media while acting as instructors who apply classes using digital media and as learners. Eighteen pre-science teachers from a college of education in the central region participated in this study. The results are as follows: First, pre-science teachers chose digital media for conducting scientific inquiry activities because they thought that the properties of digital media could arouse students’ interest and curiosity. In addition, digital media was selected based on the fact that the achievement standards and explanations of the 2022 revised curriculum emphasize digital literacy. Second, the difficulties in preparing classes using digital media are that there are few programs that are suitable for the achievement standards of the curriculum and can be utilized. In addition, paid operation of useful digital media was presented as a problem. This is thought to raise issues about educational costs when conducting classes using digital media in the field. Next, low proficiency in digital media was also found to be a difficulties in preparing classes. Third, difficulties in conducting classes were presented as students’ indiscriminate use of digital media unrelated to class, controlling students’ behavior, difficulties in achieving class goals within a limited time, and dealing with unexpected situations that occur during the process of using digital media. Fourth, when looking at pre-science teachers’ thoughts on traditional classes and classes utilizing digital media, they thought that traditional analog classes have advantages in terms of content delivery, and classes utilizing digital media have many elements that can stimulate interest. Therefore, rather than having to choose one of these, they suggested that it is necessary to select or selectively use a teaching method that can take advantage of both.
